2016 Division Kindergarten Festival of Talents for Private Schools

In preparation for the 2016 Regional Festival of Talents to be held in December 2016, the Division Kindergarten Festival of Talents for private elementary schools will be conducted on November 18, 2016, 08:00-05:OOPM at Mary Help of Christians School, San Lorenzo Village, City of Dasmariñas, Cavite. The competition aims to: a. Come up with the Division Participants to the Regional Festival of Talents for Private Schools. b. Enhance the quality standards of 5 year old children as identified in the activities; and c. Ensure that the physical, social, emotional, intellectual and spiritual personality of young children are developed. Participants to the 2016 Division Kindergarten Festival of Talents are the school champions in the following contest categories: Category
a.) Ballroom b.) Story Telling (English & Filipino) TOTAL
Number of Participants 1 group (10 members 5 males, 5 females) 1 for English and 1 for Filipino 12 -
A registration fee of Two Hundred Fifty Pesos (P 250) per participant will be collected to defray expenses for the honoraria of invited judges, and other expenses relative to the conduct of this activity. In addition, the City of Dasmariñas Association of Private Schools (CDAPS) Officers will manage the aforementioned event. Attached are the general guidelines for all the contest categories, program of activities and working committee. Immediate and widest dissemination of this Memorandum is desired.

General Guidelines for the Conduct of the Division Kindergarten Festival of Talents (DKFT) 1. Each private elementary schools shall conduct their own competitions to select the best contestants in all categories. 2. Participants to this competition are currently enrolled Kindergarten pupils in private schools. 3. A contestant is allowed to participate in only one category. 4. The coach in each category is required to submit: (a) photo copy of contestant's birth certificate with (2x2) on the upper corner (b) certification from the principal that the child is currently enrolled in the school and (c) parents' permit to Mrs. Tita B. Corrales and Mhita Revoltar on November 15, 2016 from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM at Blessed Mary Academy. 5. The number of the contestants in the registration forms shall be his/her official number during the contest. 6. There will be only one contest piece for storytelling. 7. Mechanics in the conduct of the contest per category is to be followed strictly. 8. All winners will receive medals - 1st gold, 2' silver and 3rd bronze and Certificate of Recognition. 9. The panel of judges shall be composed of a chairman and 2 members. The decision of the board of judges is final.

BALLROOM DANCE COMPETITION 1. The group is composed of five (5) pairs, 5 males & 5 females. 2. Each participating group will present ballroom dances. Ex. Cha-cha, boogie, tango, pasa doble or combination. 3. Time of performance should not exceed 5 minuted including entrance & exit. 4. Props should be naturally placed on stage during the performance but has no bearing or weight for judging. CRITERIA FOR JUDGING: A. Creativity B. Choreography C. Grace & Footwork D. Mastery & Coordination E. Attire Total

STORY TELLING 1. Contestants will be gathered in the assigned room. 2. Coaches and parents are not allowed to mingle with the contestant as the competition starts. 3. Each contestant will be given a maximum time of 3 minutes to deliver the piece. 4. The winner will be chosen by the panel of judges based on the general criteria below: A. Story Content 50% • Accuracy of recalled events - 20% • Organization of events/ideas including inference from texts - 15% • Accurate outlining qf the sequence of events as they happened in the story - 15% B. Voice Projection! Verbal Style C. Expression Distinct Style D. Level of Confidence TOTAL
