World War II Main Events Assignment Using your textbook, research the following events. You should generally describe the event and explain its consequences/importance. Battle of Midway 1942 (p. 491-492) 8. D-Day 1944 (p. 499-501) 9. Battles of Iwo Jima & Okinawa 1945 (p.503-505) 10. V-E Day 1945 (p. 503) 11. Atomic Bombing of Japan 1945 (p. 505-507) Option 1. Annotated Timeline Directions: Place the events on the timeline. For each, write a description of the event and explain its consequences/importance. Option 2. Power Point/Google Slides Timeline. For each key event, create 2 slides. The first slide should name the event, state its date, and describe what happened. The second slide should explain the consequences/importance of the event. Please feel free to add slides with relevant photographs. If you choose this option, save your Power Point to your locker and share with Mr. Gerber on the collaboration station (collab). Grading: 20 Points 10 Points:   

6 Points: The visual appeal of the timeline  Timeline should be neat and colorful, and easy to read (typed descriptions recommended)  The advantage here goes to Power Point. 4 Points: Work Time is well used.  Any off task time during the two work days will result in lost points (There is a 3 point penalty for every day the assignment is late, up to 12 points maximum.) The best PowerPoint timeline gets a 2 point bonus on the World War II test.
