Dear Columbine Families, Welcome to the 2017-2018 school year! I am really looking forward to connecting with students and getting to know their strengths and interests. Our shared goal at Columbine is to keep learning fun and engaging while meeting the targeted learning standards. Together, we will focus our energy in continuing to cultivate students’ love for learning in a school that constantly strives for excellent and equity. Eclipse on Monday, August 21 On August 21, 2017 at 11:46 AM, a near total eclipse of the Sun will be visible in Boulder. Columbine teachers will be taking their students outside to safely view this rare event with the use of eclipse glasses. The school has enough eclipse glasses for each student in attendance on this day. If you would like to purchase your own eclipse sunglasses, please visit https://eclipse.aas.org/resources/solar-filters to find reputable vendors. Please let your child’s teacher know if you have any questions or if you do not want your child to participate in the viewing of the eclipse.
