*Call To Worship Lead a life worthy of the calling to which you are called. We cannot do this alone, we dare not try this alone, so we gather as God’s people. Lead a life worthy of your calling, a life filled with service and generosity. We come to build up Christ’ Body, in humility and gentleness, with patience and love. Live a life worthy of the calling to which you have been called. We come to worship as God’s family joined by God’s unending love.

Hymn of Response “More Love to Thee, O Christ”
UMH #453 Vs. 1 & 2
Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen. UMH #881
I believe in God the Father Almighty, maker of heaven and earth; And in Jesus Christ His only Son our Lord: Who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, dead, and buried; the third day he rose from the dead: he ascended into heaven, and sitteth at the right hand of God the Father Almighty; from thence he shall come to judge the quick and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen.
Gloria Patri Glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Ghost; as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen. Amen.
Prayer For Illumination O Lord, your Word is a lamp to our feet and a light to our path. Give us grace to receive your truth in faith and love, and strength to follow on the path you set before us; through Jesus Christ, Amen.

Opportunities for Prayer and Action: From hurricanes to earthquakes to social upheaval at home and abroad, it is sometimes difficult to know how to plug in and transform our world for Christ, as we're called to do. Here are a few thoughts and suggestions: Thank you for what you've done. From the lives you have touched in our church and our community to the thousands of dollars raised for hurricane relief, take heart that you are already making a difference. Keep praying: Here are two opportunities locally to gather with others: Apex UMC is hosting a prayer vigil for issues surrounding DACA Thursday, September 21 at 7pm. St. Francis UMC is hosting a community forum on "Welcoming the Stranger" Wednesday, September 27 at 7pm. Keep giving. UMCOR will continue to send funds and supplies to those impacted by the natural disasters. Our connected giving as a church makes it possible for 100% of donations to these disasters to go right to work, without being diverted for administrative costs.
