West Education Campus Modernization Project Update Prepared on Wednesday, December 06, 2017 Location: 1338 Farragut St NW, Washington, DC 20011 Ward: 4 Design Builder/Architects: TBD Project Status: Kick Off/Feasibility Study Project Website: https://sites.google.com/a/dc.gov/dcps-schoolmodernizations/home/west-education-campus General Project Overview The Campus is slated to undergo a full modernization. The project will kick-off with a feasibility study to assess the current condition and conduct test fits. This will deterime the best approach in meeting future needs and District-wide standards for educational and play spaces. Project Status • Summary of Work Completed over the Past Month o DCPS held a kick off meeting to introduce the community to the project and to explain the project approach. Community feedback from the visioning activity can be found here. o DCPS is working with school leadership and West parent organizations to form the School Improvement Team (SIT). The SIT will be finalized within the next two weeks. o DC Department of General Services is in the procurement process for a design team to conduct the West feasibility study. Interested firms participated in a site visit at West Education Campus on 11/28. •

Next steps from December 11 to December 22 o DCPS will continue to work with school leadership and the DCPS Community Actiion Team to finalize SIT members. o DC Department of General Services aims to select a design firm for the feasibility study by Friday, December 15.
