Prison Ministry ~ Prison Ministries will have a booth at the SAU Flea Market tomorrow, Sunday, May 14. All proceeds will benefit this vital ministry to "the least of these." Many prisoners are eagerly taking Bible Studies. Volunteers grade them and return them, along with encouraging notes. This requires a lot of postage. Please take some time and stop by our booth, located close to the back of the boys dorm. The prisoners have made afghans, hats, and other items to sell to help others be able to take the Bible Studies :) Call John Holley 423-316-6722. Go. Hope. Share. Library for Inmates ~ the chaplain has asked our prison ministry team to set up a library at the Hamilton County Jail. If you have paper back or soft cover books to share with the inmates, please place them in the first Sabbath School room to the right of the front door. Heaven's Bounty ~ The Southern Singles Ministry (a division of the Conf Church Ministries) is operating a food pantry in Apison. The pantry serves 30-40 families each day it's open. We are in need of helpers in the following areas: • Putting food away in bins before the clients arrive (3-4 hour blocks) • Pick up/delivery from Food City (2 hrs, 1x a week, Sunday – Friday) Contact Linda Robertson 423/322-7206 to help with this important ministry. Area Announcements Sunshine Bands ~ of music, ministry and friendship are welcome at The Lantern of Collegedale on 2nd and 4th Sabbaths at 3pm. Messy Church ~ Bowman Hills Church will be having Messy Church tonight, May 13th from 7 - 9:30 pm in the gym. This will be the last Messy Church until late summer. All welcome to attend. You don't want to miss this. VFW Flea Market ~ the annual spring Flea Market is, tomorrow, Sunday May 14, 6 a - 2 m, rain or shine on SAU's campus. 55+ Club of Collegedale ~ will meets tomorrow, Sunday, May 14, at noon in the fellowship hall of the Collegedale Church. The program will feature Pastor Jim Moon of the church staff giving a musical concert and will begin about 1 pm. Food assignments for the vegetarian meal: A-D: Entrees; E-F: Potatoes, Pasta or Rice; G-K: Dessert; L-O: Vegetables; P-S: Potato, Macaroni or Tossed Salads; T-V: Sandwiches, Rolls or Bread. Food should arrive by 11:30. WELLkids at Southern ~ want to keep your kids moving and exploring this summer? Send them to "WELLkids in the Wild," a summer day camp program for kids at SAU. Each week-long session offer outdoor activities like rock climbing, hiking, canoeing, ropes course, caving, rafting and more, facilitated by graduate students in the Outdoor Leadership program.
