Acts of the Apostles Study ~ continues Fridays at 6:30 pm at the church. Everyone is invited. No childcare. Church Treasurer Needed ~ We are accepting resumes. The position involves around 15 hrs per week and pays a modest hourly rate. Preferred candidates will have some experience in bookkeeping or other finance experience but not necessary; training will be provided. Heaven's Bounty ~ The Southern Singles Ministry is operating Heaven’s Bounty, a food pantry in Apison, right in our back yard. The pantry serves 30-40 families each day that it is open. We are in need of helpers in the following areas: • Putting food away in bins before the clients arrive. (3-4 hour blocks of time, weekly, monthly or whatever works for you) • Picking up food once a week at Food City. (About 2 hours 1x a week for loading and unloading at the center, any day Sunday – Friday) Southern Singles falls under the Church Ministries Department of the Conference. Evening Anthem Vespers ~ presents Aren Bruce, vocalist/guitarist, this evening, Nov 25. at 5 pm. This will be a special program of thanksgiving for this holiday season at Chattanooga First SDA Church. Come and be blessed!" Benefit Concert ~ hosted by Violinist, Jaime Jorge. He will be joined by 3 vocalists, Javier Gonzalez, Alessandra Sorace and Paulette Jamalon will hold a benefit concert at the Collegedale Community Church, Sabbath, November 25 at 6 pm for families suffering persecution in the middle east. [email protected] SAU Annual Christmas Tree Lighting ~ Join us Tuesday, Nov 28th at 6:30 pm in front of Wright Hall for a festive evening of food, fellowship and music to kick off the Christmas season. The evening will begin with a welcome from President David Smith, followed by refreshments and performances be various music groups, including Southern’s Jazz Ensemble, Collegedale Academy Band, the Southern Ringtones and more. SAU Christmas Pops Concert ~ Full of holiday favorites, join us for the annual Christmas Pops Concert featuring the Wind Symphony, Jazz Ensemble and Ringtones. Conducted by Ken Parsons and Laurie Cooper, the event will be on December 2 in Iles P.E. Center at 8 pm. Selections include “Fanfare/Hark! The Herald Angels Sing” by Chip Davis, “We Three Kings” by John Wesley Gibson, “Caliente Christmas” by Rick Dior, "Shepard’s Pipe Carol” by John Rutter and more.
SAU School of Music Christmas Program (Two Dates) ~ invites you to a musical Christmas wonderland featuring the Symphony Orchestra, Brass Ensemble and choral ensembles. This special program will be presented on two dates: Friday, December 8, at 7:30 pm and Saturday, December 9, at 4 pm. Both performances will be in the Collegedale SDA Church. Under the direction of Laurie Redmer Minner, Ken Parsons and Gennevieve Brown-Kibble, the group will perform Francis Poulec’s “Gloria," among other works. Holiday Craft Show and Auction ~ Sunday, Dec.3 beginning at 10 am at the Standifer Gap SDA Church School. We will be serving spaghetti dinners and hot dogs and chips along with drinks too. If you are a crafter/vender you can call Karon at 941-720-4181 to reserve your spot. Spots start out at $25 for a 10x10. Our proceeds go to the School Scholarship Fund and to update our play ground. Community Messiah Sing-Along ~ Sunday, December 10 at 3 pm for the 8th Annual Handel's Messiah Sing-Along event held at the Chattanooga First SDA Church.
