Kids in Stitches ~ meets Monday's, 9 to Noon, here at the church. Come help create sewed, knitted and crocheted items for missions. Current project is with JESUS FOR ASIA supplying fleece blankets & clothing items for disadvantaged children. Fabric and yarn donations welcome! Questions, call Julianna. Baby Shower Tea ~ Sunday, Oct. 23, 11 am to 1 pm in the LCA School Library. River is the soon to arrive daughter of Joelle and Matthew Marlin and granddaughter of Greg and Karen Williams and is due December 7th. Light snacks will be served. They are registered at Target and Amazon.com. River was chosen because it’s a strong name; rivers define and change landscapes and are also beautiful. Dakota is honoring Joelle’s Sioux ancestors and means “friend.”

Brenda Walsh ~ guest speaker on Sabbath November 5 for the worship service and also an afternoon seminar. We will be having our fellowship luncheon on that day instead of the third Sabbath.

Hymnals ~ during our renovation we discovered that 36 Hymnals ($17.50 ea) need to be replaced. If 36 people sponsored 1 hymnal, we would easily be able to replenish them. Please mark your envelopes “Hymnals”. Thank you!

How We Love our Kids Seminar ~ resumes Sunday, Oct 9 at 10 am. Discover the unseen forces that influence every interaction you have with your kids. Seminar reveals the underlying reasons behind children’s behavior and equips you with the tools to teach them how to build healthy and stable relationships for the rest of their lives. Contact the Pastor if you are interested in attending. Childcare Supervision Needed ~ Volunteer adults and teens greatly needed to provide supervision Sundays 9:30 – 12 noon. We could use 2 or 3 adults, please contact the Pastor if you are able to help. Thank you for your willingness to serve!

Women Inspiring Women Project ~ We still need cards with your personal hand written notes of encouragement to be shared with women at a shelter in the area. Drop them off at the Welcome Desk or give them to Noelle or Janice. Volunteer Pianist and Maintenance Persons Needed ~ at our LCA school for the youth choir and general school repairs. Area Announcements Adventist Retired Workers ~ wraps up its annual "Praising Christ" Week, today, Oct 1, 4pm in the Gospel Chapel of the Collegedale Church. Speakers will share God's leading in their lives and there will be special music. Southern’s Symphony Orchestra Presents Free Fall Concert The Symphony Orchestra at SAU presents a free fall concert, tomorrow, Sunday, October 2, at 7:30 pm in the Collegedale Church. The concert will feature the “Overture from The Abduction from the Seraglio” by Mozart. Local violinist Joshua Holritz will play the Tchaikovsky Violin Concerto in D Major, op. 35, and the concert will end with Dvorak’s Symphony No. 6 in D Major, op. 60. Adelphos ~ a community-based non-denominational Christian vocal group of young men originally founded in Staunton, Virginia, is re-establishing in Chattanooga, Tennessee. Adelphos will consist of 8 to 16 singers and an accompanist. Vocalist positions are open to young men post high school through 20’s. The accompanist position is open to any age, male or female. Spaghetti Dinner Fundraiser ~ Sunday, Oct. 23, the Collegedale Pathfinder Club will have an all-you-can-eat spaghetti dinner fundraiser (spaghetti, salad, bread, drink, dessert and entertainment) from 4 to 7 pm in the Collegedale Church Fellowship Hall. Pathfinders will be selling tickets with a percentage of what they sell being credited to their Oshkosh 2019 Camporee fee. Tickets will also be available at the Church Office and at the door (you can specify which pathfinder to credit). Tickets are $7.50. SAU’s Centennial Celebration ~ Sunday, Oct. 30, 2 – 5 pm, Veteran’s Park. This fall festival is celebrating SAU’s move from Graysville, TN and the founding of the Collegedale community. Come enjoy food, fun and fellowship as we celebrate. Heaven's Bounty ~ The Southern Singles Ministry is operating Heaven’s Bounty, a food pantry in Apison, right in our back yard. The pantry serves 30-40 families each day that it is open. We are in need of volunteers in the following areas: • Putting food away in bins before the clients arrive. (3-4 hour blocks of time, weekly, monthly or whatever works for you) • Picking up food once a week at Food City. (About 2 hours once a week for loading and unloading at the center, any day, Sunday –Friday) Southern Singles falls under the Church Ministries Department of the Conference.
