Revision to Medical Cannabis Regulations The City Manager issued a revision today to the City’s Medical Cannabis Dispensary and Delivery Permit Submittal Requirements. A clarification was made regarding the lottery system. The change allows permit holders in good standing to be able to apply for and receive a permit in subsequent years without being subject to a new lottery for the maximum three permits for dispensaries and maximum three permits for delivery services. Special City Council Meetings Added A special city council meeting has been called for Tuesday, January 31 at 7 p.m. to discuss initiation proceedings for renewal and a possible rate increase and term extension for the Ojai Tourism Improvement District (OTID). Please see the City web page for more information on the process. Several additional documents were added to the webpage this week to give the public more information on the matter. Two business items carried over from the January 24 regular meeting are also on the Jan. 31 agenda. On Tuesday, February 7 at 6 p.m., the City Council will hold a special meeting to discuss issues related to the projection of Cultural Resources. The next regular city council meeting is set for Tuesday, February 14. Parent Night Out set for January 27 On Friday, January 27, the Ojai Recreation Department is hosting another “Parent Night Out” featuring the animated movie “Ice Age-Collision Course ”. The event runs from 6:00 – 9:00pm with free play in our game room for the first hour and the movie starting at 7:00pm. The evening includes pizza, popcorn and beverage all for just $10 dollars! It’s open to children 5 years of age and older. The event is held in the Boyd Center’s Multipurpose Room at Sarzotti Park, and has been growing in popularity. Attendance averages 50 children per showing. For future events, please visit our website at ojairec.com. Drop In Volleyball Now Offered through Ojai Recreation The Ojai Recreation Department is now offering Drop-in Volleyball for teens and adults. The cost is $3 per person, runs from 7:30 – 9:00pm every Friday night, and is held in the John Martin Gym at Sarzotti Park- all skill levels welcome.
