Weekly Incident Summary October 17-23, 2016 HALTON HILLS, ON – Monday, October 17, 2016 08:51 Hours – Fire fighters responded to the report of a natural gas leak on Park Ave in Acton. On scene fire staff shut down the road from Park to Victoria and notified homeowners close by to keep their doors and windows closed. Union Gas arrived and repaired the leak. Tuesday, October 18, 2016 09:21 Hours – Fire fighters responded to an ambulance assist on John Goy Senior Trail in Acton. On scene fire staff provided patient care until ambulance arrived. 20:22 Hours – Fire fighters responded to an alarm activation on Beardmore Cres in Acton. On scene fire staff met with the homeowner who advised that burnt food had caused the alarm to activate. Thursday, October 20, 2016 12:04 Hours - Fire fighters responded to an alarm activation on 22 Sideroad. On scene staff met with the homeowner who advised the alarm was due to a faulty smoke detector in the basement. Fire staff provided a battery operated detector to the homeowner to provide protection until the alarm system is fixed. 13:29 Hours - Fire fighters responded to the report of hydro wires arcing on Fourth Line. On scene fire staff found a large tree branch had broken off and landed on hydro wires just north of the tracks on Fourth Line. No arcing or dangerous condition found upon arrival. Fire was cleared by Hydro. Friday, October 21, 2016 09:49 Hours – Fire fighters responded to a two-vehicle motor vehicle collision in the area of 10 Sideroad & Trafalgar Road. On scene fire staff removed the battery from the vehicle and were cleared by Halton Regional Police. 18:03 Hours – Fire fighters responded to an alarm activation on Churchill Rd S in Acton. On scene fire staff was advised there was no smoke or fire visible but the alarm panel indicated the north stairwell and the third floor smoke detectors had activated. Fire staff checked the second and third floors with nothing found. Fire staff silenced the alarm and building personnel reset the alarm panel.

Sunday, October 23, 2016 16:51 Hours – Fire fighters responded to an ambulance assist on Mill St West in Acton. On scene fire staff assisted with patient care until ambulance arrived.
