LightHouse of Prayer Revelation Live – Week 1 Introduction and Revelation 1 February 3, 2017 I.

Revelation is Primarily Describing the Final “Week” of Human History Leading Up to the Return of Jesus A. The Prophet Daniel was shown that the time until the end of the “indignation of Israel” would be 70 “weeks”, or 70 7-year periods of time 1. The first 69 weeks, or 483 years, concluded with the crucifixion (cutting off) of Jesus 2. The final 7-year period, or week, is called “the end.” This is the sealing up (completion, finishing) of all the prophecy regarding the redemption of Israel and the fall of mankind, to bring an end of sin, to finish the process of “reconciliation”, and to “bring in” (initiate the process of) unending righteousness:

Daniel 9:24-27 "Seventy weeks are determined For your people and for your holy city, To finish the transgression, To make an end of sins, To make reconciliation for iniquity, To bring in everlasting righteousness, To seal up vision and prophecy, And to anoint the Most Holy. (25) "Know therefore and understand, That from the going forth of the command To restore and build Jerusalem Until Messiah the Prince, There shall be seven weeks and sixty-two weeks; The street shall be built again, and the wall, Even in troublesome times. (26) "And after the sixtytwo weeks Messiah shall be cut off, but not for Himself; And the people of the prince who is to come Shall destroy the city and the sanctuary. (Break in time) The end of it shall be with a flood, And till the end of the war desolations are determined. (27) Then he shall confirm a covenant with many for one week; But in the middle of the week He shall bring an end to sacrifice and offering. And on the wing of abominations shall be one who makes desolate, Even until the consummation, which is determined, Is poured out on the desolate." 3. The final week of Daniel is separated from the other 69 weeks for a very specific reason: it is a picture of a Jewish wedding. 4. Jesus, the Bridegroom, came at just the right time and invited mankind to be restored as sons and daughters of God THROUGH His own unjust death. 5. Those who choose Jesus are BETROTHED to Him.

2 Corinthians 11:2 For I am jealous for you with godly jealousy. For I have betrothed you to one husband, that I may present you as a chaste virgin to Christ. Ephesians 5:29-32 For no one ever hated his own flesh, but nourishes and cherishes it, just as the Lord does the church. (30) For we are members of His body, of His flesh and of His bones. (31) "FOR THIS REASON A MAN SHALL LEAVE HIS FATHER AND MOTHER AND BE JOINED TO HIS WIFE, AND THE TWO SHALL BECOME ONE FLESH." (32) This is a great mystery, but I speak concerning Christ and the church.

6. In a Jewish wedding, the betrothal happens, then the bridegroom goes to prepare a home for the bride,

John 14:2-3 In My Father's house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. (3) And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also. 7. During this time the bride is set apart to the groom. Though they are technically married, they do not complete the wedding until the end of the wedding process, which culminates in a final week-long wedding feast (Gen 29:27) B. The Book of Revelation is describing the final week, or the culmination of the wedding between Jesus and His Bride, which includes not just the Church, but also Israel! C. The Book of Revelation is actually describing the events that will see the final number of gentiles come into the reality of being a Bride, as well as all of Israel being sanctified (Psalm 118), saved, and joined back into the Bride!

Matthew 23:37-39 "O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, the one who kills the prophets and stones those who are sent to her! How often I wanted to gather your children together, as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings, but you were not willing! (38) See! Your house is left to you desolate; (39) for I say to you, you shall see Me no more till you say, 'BLESSED is HE WHO COMES IN THE NAME OF THE LORD!' " Romans 11:25-26 For I do not desire, brethren, that you should be ignorant of this mystery, lest you should be wise in your own opinion, that blindness in part has happened to Israel until the fullness of the Gentiles has come in. (26) And so all Israel will be saved, as it is written: "THE DELIVERER WILL COME OUT OF ZION, AND HE WILL TURN AWAY UNGODLINESS FROM JACOB; D. The seven years the Book of Revelation describes is called “The Tribulation” by most end time Bible scholars. The second half (3.5 years, or “time, times, and a half of time”, or 42 months, or 1,260 days), or middle of the week (Daniel 9:27), is called the “Great Tribulation.” E. Jesus told believers they MUST understand this for their own safety. The Great Tribulation is also something Israel is supposed to understand, it is both in the New Testament and the Old:

Page 2

Matthew 24:15-25 "Therefore when you see the 'ABOMINATION OF DESOLATION,' spoken of by Daniel the prophet, standing in the holy place" (whoever reads, let him understand), (16) "then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains. (17) Let him who is on the housetop not go down to take anything out of his house. (18) And let him who is in the field not go back to get his clothes. (19) But woe to those who are pregnant and to those who are nursing babies in those days! (20) And pray that your flight may not be in winter or on the Sabbath. (21) For then there will be great tribulation, such as has not been since the beginning of the world until this time, no, nor ever shall be. (22) And unless those days were shortened, no flesh would be saved; but for the elect's sake those days will be shortened. (23) "Then if anyone says to you, 'Look, here is the Christ!' or 'There!' do not believe it. (24) For false christs and false prophets will rise and show great signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect. (25) See, I have told you beforehand. Daniel 12:1 "At that time Michael shall stand up, The great prince who stands watch over the sons of your people; And there shall be a time of trouble, Such as never was since there was a nation, Even to that time. And at that time your people shall be delivered, Every one who is found written in the book. II.

Revelation Is Primarily Describing a Wedding A. Revelation is mostly the story of a wedding, and is organized to show how the wedding plays out: 1. Groom = Jesus (chapter 1 – most intentional description of Jesus in scripture) 2. Bride to Be = Church, initially described as the 7 churches of Revelation in Chapters 2 and 3. This is a picture of the 7 “characteristic churches” on the earth right now. They all have value to Jesus, and 5 of them have specific issues to deal with (spots and wrinkles). Two churches, currently under persecution, are found spotless already. (Spotless does not mean sinless perfection, spotless means they are contending for holiness “completely”…they aren’t OK with any area of compromise) 3. The officiate of the wedding = The Father (Revelation Chapter 4) 4. The Wedding “process” is initiated in Chapter 5 5. Chapters 6-15 describe the Great Tribulation (with several angelic explanations) 6. Chapter 16-18 describes the final judgment on those who reject the Groom 7. Chapter 19 describes the moment the wedding is ready to be performed, at the end of the trouble:

Revelation 19:7-8 Let us be glad and rejoice and give Him glory, for the marriage of the Lamb has come, and His wife has made herself ready." (8) And to her it was granted to be arrayed in fine linen, clean and bright, for the fine linen is the righteous acts of the saints.

Page 3

LightHouse of Prayer Revelation Live – Week 1 Introduction and Revelation 1 February 3, 2017 B. The Book of Revelation is intended to give us vision that SANCTIFIES into a ONENESS with Jesus (Revelation 17:19-24). C. This is what it means to “put on restraint”

Proverbs 29:18 Where there is no revelation, the people cast off restraint; But happy is he who keeps the law. Matthew 11:29-30 Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. (30) For My yoke is easy and My burden is light." III.

Revelation Chapter 1 – Vision of the Groom and His Names

Revelation 1:1-3 The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave Him to show His servants— things which must shortly take place. And He sent and signified it by His angel to His servant John, (2) who bore witness to the word of God, and to the testimony of Jesus Christ, to all things that he saw. (3) Blessed is he who reads and those who hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written in it; for the time is near. A. There is much to do to become ONE with Jesus. This is what it means to “keep” the prophecy of Revelation. B. In the broadest sense, the things the Bride matures in through the events of Revelation are: 1. Operating in the government of God (night and day intercession, which includes learning to love, release, and withdraw judgment in partnership with God, Psalm 149) 2. Contending for the salvation/sealing of Israel (Isaiah 62, Isaiah 52, Revelation 7) 3. Getting personally ready to walk in holiness/power forever (1 Peter 1:16) 4. Getting equipped to save as many people as possible as Jesus incrementally releases judgment

Haggai 2:6-9 "For thus says the LORD of hosts: 'Once more (it is a little while) I will shake heaven and earth, the sea and dry land; (7) and I will shake all nations, and they shall come to the Desire of All Nations, and I will fill this temple with glory,' says the LORD of hosts. (8) 'The silver is Mine, and the gold is Mine,' says the LORD of hosts. (9) 'The glory of this latter temple shall be greater than the former,' says the LORD of hosts. 'And in this place I will give peace,' says the LORD of hosts." C. Places of night and day prayer, or temple worship, will be the only safe places in the Great Tribulation.

Page 4

LightHouse of Prayer Revelation Live – Week 1 Introduction and Revelation 1 February 3, 2017 D. In order to get into this restrained, or focused, lifestyle, we need to get Revelation of who Jesus is, what we were saved into, and what He requires. The Great Tribulation will TEST whether or not we actually did this!

Revelation 3:10 Because you have kept My command to persevere, I also will keep you from the hour of trial which shall come upon the whole world, to test those who dwell on the earth. E. Revelation 1, verses 4-20, are the most concentrated vision of who Jesus is (approx 30 descriptions of Jesus in a few paragraphs!):

Revelation 1:4-20 John, to the seven churches which are in Asia: Grace to you and peace from Him who is and who was and who is to come, and from the seven Spirits who are before His throne, (5) and from Jesus Christ, the faithful witness, the firstborn from the dead, and the ruler over the kings of the earth. To Him who loved us and washed us from our sins in His own blood, (6) and has made us kings and priests to His God and Father, to Him be glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen. (7) Behold, He is coming with clouds, and every eye will see Him, even they who pierced Him. And all the tribes of the earth will mourn because of Him. Even so, Amen. (8) "I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End," says the Lord, "who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty." (9) I, John, both your brother and companion in the tribulation and kingdom and patience of Jesus Christ, was on the island that is called Patmos for the word of God and for the testimony of Jesus Christ. (10) I was in the Spirit on the Lord's Day, and I heard behind me a loud voice, as of a trumpet, (11) saying, "I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last," and, "What you see, write in a book and send it to the seven churches which are in Asia: to Ephesus, to Smyrna, to Pergamos, to Thyatira, to Sardis, to Philadelphia, and to Laodicea." (12) Then I turned to see the voice that spoke with me. And having turned I saw seven golden lampstands, (13) and in the midst of the seven lampstands One like the Son of Man, clothed with a garment down to the feet and girded about the chest with a golden band. (14) His head and hair were white like wool, as white as snow, and His eyes like a flame of fire; (15) His feet were like fine brass, as if refined in a furnace, and His voice as the sound of many waters; (16) He had in His right hand seven stars, out of His mouth went a sharp two-edged sword, and His countenance was like the sun shining in its strength. (17) And when I saw Him, I fell at His feet as dead. But He laid His right hand on me, saying to me, "Do not be afraid; I am the First and the Last. (18) I am He who lives, and was dead, and behold, I am alive forevermore. Amen. And I have the keys of Hades and of Death. (19) Write the things which you have seen, and the things which are, and the things which will take place after this. (20) The mystery of the seven stars which you saw in My right hand, and the seven golden lampstands: The seven stars are the angels of the seven churches, and the seven lampstands which you saw are the seven churches. F. The way we “keep” Revelation 1, and the most essential foundational truth for the rest of the Book of Revelation is, to “behold and become”:

Page 5

2 Corinthians 3:14-18 But their minds were blinded. For until this day the same veil remains unlifted in the reading of the Old Testament, because the veil is taken away in Christ. (15) But even to this day, when Moses is read, a veil lies on their heart. (16) Nevertheless when one turns to the Lord, the veil is taken away. (17) Now the Lord is the Spirit; and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty. (18) But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord. G. This process takes time. H. This is the main way we get “oil” (Matthew 25) to burn through the night, or great tribulation:

Matthew 25:1-13 "Then the kingdom of heaven shall be likened to ten virgins who took their lamps and went out to meet the bridegroom. (2) Now five of them were wise, and five were foolish. (3) Those who were foolish took their lamps and took no oil with them, (4) but the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps. (5) But while the bridegroom was delayed, they all slumbered and slept. (6) "And at midnight a cry was heard: 'Behold, the bridegroom is coming; go out to meet him!' (7) Then all those virgins arose and trimmed their lamps. (8) And the foolish said to the wise, 'Give us some of your oil, for our lamps are going out.' (9) But the wise answered, saying, 'No, lest there should not be enough for us and you; but go rather to those who sell, and buy for yourselves.' (10) And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came, and those who were ready went in with him to the wedding; and the door was shut. (11) "Afterward the other virgins came also, saying, 'Lord, Lord, open to us!' (12) But he answered and said, 'Assuredly, I say to you, I do not know you.' (13) "Watch therefore, for you know neither the day nor the hour in which the Son of Man is coming. I.

It isn’t enough to know information about Jesus, we need to know how he feels, what he is excited about…We need to learn His emotions. J. David was a student of God’s emotions. K. This is the PRIMARY purpose of the prayer room, to see His emotions, to see our emotions, to repent for the difference, and become more like Jesus by asking:

Matthew 7:7-11 "Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. (8) For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened. (9) Or what man is there among you who, if his son asks for bread, will give him a stone? (10) Or if he asks for a fish, will he give him a serpent? (11) If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask Him!
