Waitlisting – Student Information - Fall 2018 Waitlisting is a feature that allows students to waitlist a class that has met its maximum enrollment limit. Waitlisting is offered on a “first-come, first-serve” basis and is not available on all scheduled classes for a term. Once a seat has become available, the student will receive an email notification to register for the class. Students will have 12 hours to register for the open seat before forfeiting it to the next spot in line. Instructions on how to waitlist a course
1. Log into MyGSU
2. Select Register (WINGS)
3. Select Student.
4. Select Registration.
5. Select Add/Drop Classes.
6. Select Term.
7. Enter RAN.
8. Add CRN directly to worksheet and click submit changes.
9. Select action dropdown, select waitlist then click submit changes.
10. Review final confirmation screen.
You have now placed yourself on the waitlist for that class. 11. You can confirm this by going to your MyGS portal, Registration Information, Registration Waitlist. See example below:
12. After clicking on Registration Waitlist, you will see:
This screen confirms that you are on the waitlist and what your order number is.
To register for a waitlisted course when a seat becomes available 1. When you are selected to register for your waitlisted course, you will receive an email as shown in the example below: -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------You recently placed yourself on a waitlist for: ----> BUSA 3131 01F - Business Statistics - Online You now have the ability to accept this class. PLEASE DO NOT USE WINGS TO ACCEPT THIS CLASS. Log into your MyGeorgiaSouthern portal, then to the Registration Information block and within that block you will see Registration Waitlist. Click on Registration Waitlist and follow the instructions. If you are registered for the same class but at a different date and time, you must first delete the class you are currently registered from WINGS before you can accept this waitlisted class.You have 12 hours from 05/15/2018 at 09:30 AM to accept this class or you will be dropped from the waitlist. If you have decided not to accept this waitlisted class, then please take a moment and drop the class from your registration so that other students will have the opportunity to register. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
2. Once you receive the email, go to your MyGS portal, Registration Information, Registration Waitlist. See example below:
3. After clicking on Registration Waitlist, you will see:
4. If you want to register for the course, click on Register and you will see the next screen appear:
Click on Yes and you will be registered for the course. 5. If you wish to Drop the waitlisted course, click on Drop and you will see the next screen appear:
Click on Yes and you will be dropped from the waitlisted course.
6. If the 12 hour limit has passed then you will see the following message:
IMPORTANT NOTES TO REMEMBER!! 1. If you are registered for a class and are on the waitlist for the same class but at a different day/time, you must delete the registered class from your schedule to accept the waitlisted course. 2. If you do not accept the waitlisted course within twelve (12) hours, then you will be deleted from the waitlist. If this occurs, overrides cannot be given to place you back on the waitlist. However, you do have the option to place yourself back on the waitlist and will be placed in the next spot in line. 3. You cannot register for a waitlisted course if registration errors exist. 4. You will not be billed for a waitlisted course until it is converted over to a registered course. 5. Questions concerning the waitlist can be addressed to
