Rape Escape- The Program
According to experts in the field of law enforcement and security a woman has a greater chance to prevent, survive and often stop a rape in progress by simply fighting back. The remaining question is, "how do I fight back?" The world famous Rape Escape program has been created to answer that question.
Peter Iacavazzi is from Bozeman, MT and travels around the country to schools teaching young girls how to protect themselves in case of a rape attack. Philosophy: "I have been teaching the Rape Escape program for five years now. My philosophy is simple, to make a difference! To provide every woman in the world the opportunity to learn. To share my knowledge and expertise as a Rape Escape educator in the hopes of giving every student a fighting chance! If I can help to save one life then all the kicks and punches and bruises received on the mat will have been worth it!!!" Phone: (406)-599-5786

Workplace U "We know that a good education can be the ticket to a good job. But for many Americans, conventional school isn't working. They don't make it through high school or don't learn enough to prepare them for good jobs. A new movement turns conventional wisdom on its head, and makes a job the ticket to an education. The idea is to turn workplaces into classrooms and marginal students into productive workers." This link is to a series of stories from a documentary report available both as recorded radio programs and as transcripts.
Has anyone in ND advertised your programs by using text? If you have and it was successful, please share your experience with the ND Resource Center so they can be shared with others. In Chesterfield, VA a program created “Ted” and he was a hit. When Ted is advertising he gives a text and phone number for people to contact the GED program. This has increased the student numbers because this is how they communicate. For the complete article go to: http://www.ketadultlearning.org/enews/winter_1 0/texting.htm
