VoiceThread Interface After adding VoiceThread to your course you will need to decide what view you want the students to have when they click the link to VoiceThread. There are 4 choices. Course View, Individual VT, VT Home or Assignment Builder. You can add the integration multiple times using different views each time.
Course View (Enable at Module Level) This displays all VoiceThreads that have been shared in a course. Good for a gallery display. 4. From the tool list select VoiceThread Graded, name the Page, (leave the default URL) and then choose Add Item. Note: Select the “Load this tool in a new tab” checkbox to have VoiceThread open a new tab in the browser rather than opening inside of Canvas. 5. VoiceThread will appear as a link in the Module.
Adding VoiceThread to an Assignment: 1. Add a new assignment from the Assignment area in the Course Navigation. 2. From the assignment type drop-down menu select External Tool. 3. Select more options. 4. In the External Tool dialog box select VoiceThread Graded (leave the default URL) and select the “Load this tool in a new tab” checkbox. 5. Enter the assignment instructions/details and select Update Assignment.
Individual VT (Enable at Module Level) Display a single VoiceThread that you have created. Good for sharing a presentation. VT Home Display a student’s VT dashboard and all the VoiceThreads that belong to or are shared with them across courses. Good for helping students organize content. Assignment Builder Create a graded assignment for students to complete. There are 3 choices. Create a VoiceThread, Submit a Comment, Watch a VoiceThread.
Note: If you want a student to create their own VoiceThread and then comment on another student’s VoiceThread you must create two assignments. You will have options to add assignment directions within VoiceThread. When students click on the link for a graded assignment, they will see the assignment you've created. They can complete the assignment work (create, comment or watch). As soon as they click on the "Submit Assignment" button, you will be able to grade their work.
