Context: The conflict between God and the worship of other gods is in the forefront of these events. How does 1 Kings 18:21 set the context for the story?
Observation: Which details stand out to as you as the most amazing as read about what the prophets of Baal did vs. what Elijah did to call down fire? In particular, focus on Elijah’s prayer in vv. 36-37.
Meaning: Who shows himself to be God? How does Jesus show that he is God in the same way?
Application: What are the battles with idols in your own life? What do you need to sacrifice in faith, because you know that Jesus is your one true God?
