THE LORD IS MY SHEPHERD The Lord is my shepherd: I shall not want. Brings me to green pastures, beside still waters. He refreshes my soul. He renews my life, and by such grace, He leads me. Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will not fear, for You are with me, Your rod and staff, they comfort me As You prepare a table in the presence of my enemies, You anoint my head, my cup overflows. Goodness and kindness, shall follow me. All of the days that of my life. I will dwell in the house of the Lord, forever and ever. Amen. THE GREAT THANKSGIVING, THE NAMING OF THE SAINTS THE LORD’S PRAYER Our Father, Who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name. Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For Thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen.

A Light Shines in the Darkness A Light shines in the darkness and the shadow is overcome. You will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life. DEATH SHALL BE NO MORE Dawn has come. Say not in grief that life is no more but say in thankfulness that life was. Not the extinguishing of a light, but the putting out of the lamp because the dawn has come. One short sleep past, we wake eternally and death shall be no more.

I SAW A NEW HEAVEN I saw a new heaven and a new earth, The first heaven and the first earth had passed away. God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and death shall be no more! Death thou shalt die.

We are blessed to have Michael and Rachel Trotta with us today. Dr. Trotta not only composed our work for this morning, A Light Shines in the Darkness, but also conducts. Michael John Trotta is one of the most “exciting and prominent new composers of choral music,” a sought-after conductor, and dynamic clinician. He brings an “intimate knowledge of the human voice,” a “rare sensitivity to the capabilities of a choral ensemble,” and years of experience as an inspiring educator to thousands of singers each year. His award-winning commissions are frequently performed at Carnegie Hall, at national conventions (ACDA, NAfME, AGO, TMEA), and his recordings are broadcast worldwide. Do Not Stand at My Grave and Weep Do not stand at my grave and weep I am not there; I do not sleep, I am a thousand winds that blow, I am the diamond glints on snow. I am the sun ripened on grain, I am gentle autumn rain. When you awaken in the morning's hush, I am the swift uplifting rush Of quiet birds encircled in flight I am the soft star that shines at night. Do not stand at my grave and cry. I am not there; I did not die.

FIRST READING—PSALM 130

I Seek a Faith That Sets It Right The grass has dried up, and the flower has fallen. For the Spirit of the Lord has blown. Each one of us is like the blade of grass and flower. But you, you last forever. Therefore I seek the faith that sets it right. Amid the lilies and the candlelight. I think on Heav'n for in that air so clear That we may meet, though once confused and parted here.
