VENDOR INFORMATION PACKAGE Dear Vendor, We invite you to participate in the MADE BY HAND CRAFT SHOW that will be held on Saturday November 5, 2011. The show will be held at the International Centre in Hall 1 which is located in Mississauga, Ontario.

ABOUT THIS EVENT The primary focus of this event is to showcase the work of 150 quality handmade crafters and artists. The event will be held at the International Centre which is located at 6900 Airport Road (south of Derry Road). The International Centre is a well-known venue and has held some of Canada’s largest and most popular events. This is a highly visible venue with a high potential to attract pass-by customers. Advertising will be the biggest component to this event. The advertising will be targeted in Mississauga, Brampton, Toronto and Halton areas. A full advertising summary is outlined on page 2.

ABOUT THE FACILITY The International Centre is conveniently located in the northeast of Mississauga on Airport Road south of Derry Road (minutes from Toronto’s Person International Airport). The facility is accessible from all major highways, 401, 410, 427 and 407. The facility provides complimentary (free) parking for 5000 vehicles around the perimeter of the building. In addition the facility is equipped with wireless internet throughout, conveniently located ATM machines and public telephones.

GOALS FOR THIS EVENT to have high quality and a large variety of handmade juried vendors showcasing their work (please note there will be limited vendors of each category) to provide a strong advertising strategy that will target residents and businesses in the Mississauga, Brampton, Halton and Toronto areas to provide a pleasant shopping experience for all customers and vendors to provide ample parking for vendors and customers to provide affordable admission for the public (Free Admission with any returned advertising promo material (ie. flyer, newspaper ad, email invite, website promo ect.). Regular Admission will be $1 each or $2 per family.

ADVERTISING Our goal is to attract customers from Toronto, Mississauga, Brampton and Halton areas. I have been participating in craft shows since 2007 and found that many events were underpublicized. Strategies must be put in place to create a successful event. As such, advertising will be the biggest component of our focus. Below are the forms of advertising which will be utilized to gain exposure and attract customers to the event. (Advertising at the International Centre)  WEB PRESENCE on the International Centre website (51,000 unique visitors each month)*  EVENT CALENDAR FLYER: The event will be listed in the Events Calendar flyer which gives exposure to anyone who walks into the International Centre; it’s displayed in an exclusive brochure rack located at the highest traffic volume location in the building.  AIRPORT ROAD LED SIGN: Catch the attention of over 61,000 daily Airport Road drivers while we advertise your event on two, double-sided 10’ X 20’ LED signs, prominently located on the busy Airport Road.  EVENT HOTLINE: Callers to the International Centre always get up-to-the-minute information from our telephone listings for the event * based on the information posted on the International Centre Website (Print Advertising – Newspapers/Flyers)  1 ad MISSISSAUGA NEWS BOOSTER: (75,760 press run)  2 ads MISSISSAUGA NEWS THIS WEEK (Apt/Condo/Malton Edition): (73,900 press run)  1 ad BRAMPTON GUARDIAN BOOSTER: (121,500 press run)  1 ad MILTON CHAMPION: (27,200 press run)  1 ad GEORGETOWN INDEPENDANT: (22,500 press run)  10,000 Flyer inserts (8 1/2” x 11”) distributed through the MISSISSAUGA NEWS (10,000 distributed)  Flyer Distribution at other craft show events (Bag inserts)  Vendor Flyer Distribution Challenge (see below) (Online Advertising)  INTERNATIONAL CENTRE WEBSITE (http://www.internationalcentre.com/) (see above)  Event Website: www.madebyhandshow.com  www.flyerland.ca – Event flyer posted online for 30 days targeting the Mississauga & Brampton areas  Social Networking Sites (Blogs, Facebook, Twitter ect.)  Event Listings sites (i.e. City of Mississauga event calendar, Mississauga News, Kijiji, Showsmart ect.) and much more … (Sign Advertising)  Please note that Mississauga has a by-law which prohibits us from attaching signs to light standards ect.  4 Portable Sign Rentals; on major roadways near the facility which will run for a 21 day period  2 AIRPORT ROAD LED SIGNS (on the International Centre Property) – see above  Above Hall 1 Entrance (lettering sign);

Please note that this is our base advertising plan. Additional advertising will be added based on vendor response and corporate sponsorship. If you have any advertising suggestions, ideas, or comments, we would love to have your input.

VENDOR FLYER DISTRIBUTION CHALLENGE We need your help with advertising, and what better way than to provide an incentive. We have set-up a special contest you, our vendors - a “Flyer Distribution Challenge”. Each vendor will be provided an electronic version of the flyer with their name on it. Each Vendor is encouraged to distribute the flyer to as many people as possible. Admission to the public is free with any returned flyer or print ad. We will award the Top 3 Vendors who have the most returned Flyers with a prize. (1st Place $100.00 – 2nd Place $75 – 3rd Place $50) Winners will be announced following the event.

SIGN & RETURN THIS PAGE We are pleased to invite you to submit an application to our 2011 Made by Hand Craft Show, to be held on Saturday November 5, 2011 from 11:00 am to 7:00 pm at the International Centre, Hall 1 (6900 Airport Road, Mississauga, Ontario). PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION CAREFULLY! (1)

Booth Option A consists of approximately 10 foot frontage with a depth of 10 feet. Each Booth Rental space is $160.00 + HST ($20.80) = $180.80; (includes one 8’ table and two chairs) Booth Option B consists of approximately 5 foot frontage with a depth of 8 feet. The Booth Fee is $90.00 + HST ($11.70) = $101.70 (includes one 4’ table and one chairs)

Optional Electrical Outlets may be purchased for $50 +HST ($6.50) = $56.50 (in addition to the booth rental fee)

All vendors will be chosen by the show committee. No exhibitors will be chosen on a first come first served basis in order to offer the general public a variety of quality Canadian handmade crafters.

ALL CRAFTS MUST BE OF YOUR OWN WORK AND MUST BE HANDMADE.

Subletting or renting a portion of your booth without show committee permission is strictly forbidden.

ALL CRAFT VENDORS wishing to be considered must submit 3 - 5 colour photographs and / or slides along with your completed application form. One Photograph should be of your display.

ALL APPLICATION FORMS and a Cheques, for vendor booth fee, must be returned not later than July nd 1, 2011 (for 1st round jurying) or August 15, 2011 (for 2 round jurying if required). Cheques dated later than August 15, 2011 will not be accepted. NOTE: Please be advised cheques returned NSF; the vendor is responsible for replacement of cheque value plus bank service charges of $25.00. Applications without payment will not be acceptable.

All letters of acceptance and non-acceptance (cheques returned), will be mailed APPROXIMATELY by the weeks of July 15, 2011 & August 20, 2011. We will do our best to meet your needs (i.e., hydro, wall space etc.) when assigning your booth, however, no guarantee can be given as to your location.

Set up time will be available on from 9:00am – 10:45am Saturday morning (more details and exact loading times will available closer to the event). Please confirm your registration upon arrival. NO BOOTH may be dismantled prior to 7:00 p.m. THIS DISTURBS VENDORS AND CUSTOMERS. All vendors must leave by 9:00pm. If you dismantle your booth prior to 7:00pm you will not be invited to future events.

(10) Upon acceptance of application the registration fee is non-refundable. (11) There will be parking attendances and security during the event. Do not block fire entrances ect. (11) You must supply your own table coverings (table cloth or table skit); which must reach to the floor (12) NO handwritten signs (all signs must be professional looking); Printed on a computer is acceptable. We will ask you to remove all handwritten signs; (13) Please complete the attached registration form carefully, include your registration fee. Please make cheques payable to: MADE BY HAND PLEASE PRINT CLEARLY (14) All Vendor Communication (following acceptable) will be done through Google Groups (you will be invited to join the group following acceptance. (15) I agree to post this event on my website, facebook and twitter and other social networking sites. (16) Have FUN!!
