VACANCY NOTICE Process Technician- Wire Frame Fehrer- PE Department:
Production
Job Purpose:
Responsible for the control and the efficient operation of the wire frame manufacturing process.
Reporting to:
Production Controller
Educational:
Requirements for Applicants 1. Grade 12 school leaving certificate 2. Trade Artisan or equivalent; 3. Qualification in Industrial SPC (Statistical Process Control) 4. Qualification in problem solving techniques (8D)
Experiential:
3 years
Key Performance Areas CNC Bending machines
Robotic Welding cell
First-Off checks: Monitoring Of On-Going Production: Fault Finding/ Trouble Shooting:
Rejects/ Repairs Analysis:
Associated Tasks Must be able to program and fine tune wires on the CNC wire bending machine. Ensure machines are maintained in good working order. Issue job cards to Maintenance if required. Ensure preventative maintenance is performed on CNC bending machines. Attend to minor breakdowns on CNC bending machines. Liaise with machine supplier when required. Ensure Machine Setters follows the correct procedures when setting up the machine. Must be able to program and fine tune welding robot Ensure welding process is capable. Improve welding process if required. Improve welding jigs if required. Ensure welding jigs are maintained. Check parts visually Ensure part complies with part checking fixture. Ensure conforming parts are produced
Using past experience, records on the SPC charts to ensure fault finding is rapid and follows a systematic process, which should include paragraphs 1 to 7 above. Also use established trouble shooting guides and case studies to diagnose faults and take appropriate action. Record all faults in case study files for future reference. Production records must be reviewed to establish the cause of failures. Results should be graphed for easy analysis and action. Where same problem occurs due to machine or chemical process errors, then previous steps described in paragraphs 1 to 7 have not been followed. Corrective action must be implemented. Actions must be recorded fully with agreed timing, responsibility etc. These actions must then be followed up and fail safed (error proofed), to prevent a repeat.
Training:
Customer Returns:
Industrialisation Of New Samples Or Processes:
Continuous Improvement/ Value Analysis- Value Engineering (VA/VE):
Where errors are found, re-training of production personnel is necessary. This must be carried out across all shifts. When chemical or machine faults are found process teams must be retrained. Continuously monitor and train production personnel. Training provided must be recorded. Where customer returns occur proper fault analysis must be conducted to establish if the problem was a machine, chemical or operator error. Appropriate corrective measures must be implemented to prevent recurrence. Ensure engineering development samples are manufactured under production controls. Keep individual files for each product developed which will include the B.O.M, E.P.R, relevant specifications and the hardness and mass capability studies. Details of all problems and solutions must be recorded. Analyse existing parts and processes with a view of reducing operating costs. Re-engineer parts and process to reduce factory operating costs. Champion special projects to improve process capability and product performance. PLC programming of new or part changes as required. Responsible for ensuring that quality standards are achieved and maintained at all times by the production teams. Lead quality improvement efforts and enforce compliance form production teams. Ensure that safe working procedures are adhere to at all times. Also ensure protective clothing, shoes and glasses are worn correctly and at all times in designated areas. Ensure that all safety devices on the plant are operating correctly. Report Defective plant and machinery to maintenance department in the form of maintenance job requisitions.
