Grammar Past tense

Unit 6.1 Past tense - was, were Verbs that tell about an action that happened in the past are called past tense verbs. Be – Past Tense Subject + Verb Singular I was You were He was She was It was

Plural We were You were They were

Be - Past Tense Negative Subject + Verb + not Singular I was not You were not He was not She was not It was not

Exercise 1 Fill in the blanks with “was”, “were”  Highlight the subject and state if it is singular (s) or plural (p).  Highlight the evidence (if any) that tells you that the statement is in the past. 1. Unit 6.2 Rules of past tense verbs The basic form of a verb changes to make it a past tense verb. RULE # 1 The letters ed can be added to many verbs to show that something happened in the past. Present Tense Want
