Factoring ­ Cubes and Grouping Sum and Difference of Cubes

Helpful Steps: • Always try GCF first • Rewrite as a sum/difference of two cubes • Factor as Binomial Trinomial ­­ binomial is "what you see" and  trinomial is "Square­Multiply­Square" • "Soap" ­ Same­opposite­always positive to get the signs

Grouping (4 terms) Helpful Steps: • Separate into two groups of two terms • Look for the GCF of each group • Inside of ( ) needs to be a perfect match • Factor out "the match" and group the  remaining terms as the second binomial
