INFORM Goal-Setting Workshop in June 2016
Continuing with our successful Goal Setting Workshops in June 2016 with over 90 Directors of Care, Managers, Educators and front-line staff in attendance, the INFORM team is preparing for the upcoming INFORM Support Workshop to be held in the first two weeks of November. The Advice Seeking Network (SNA) project will be hosting three summits in Winnipeg, Edmonton and Halifax this Winter. The summits will summarize the study results and provide conclusions for stakeholders while identifying specific interventions and dissemination strategies utilizing network data, and future directions for the study. The summits will be attended by researchers, knowledge users, and representatives from long term care interest groups.
In conjunction with the Summit for the SNA project being held in Halifax in November, a meeting of RAI data users, and others interested in using RAI data, from across Atlantic Canada is being planned. The meeting aims to build capacity for TREC research initiatives in the Atlantic provinces. We are also pleased to share that Erin McAfee, former SNA trainee at MSVU has started data collection for her thesis work that explores the smaller networks in the survey maps that are not connected or “isolated” from the main networks. She expects to complete data collection this fall.

We were sad to see our summer students go. We had a blast working with them. Their enthusiasm, energy, and thirst for knowledge revitalized the entire TREC team here in Edmonton. Thank you, and good luck to all of you in your future endeavours!
