The United Church has a long tradition of arranging and gratefully receiving planned gifts. We have been issuing charitable gift annuities since 1907 and receiving bequests and other types of planned gifts since long before that. To help your clients, the church has a seasoned and highly trained team of Regional Development Officers who work locally in all regions of the country. They would be happy to meet with you or your clients to explore options on how their gifts may be used best to reflect their wishes. The United Church was one of the founding members of the Canadian Association of Gift Planners (CAGP) and is an active member of the Canadian Charitable Annuity Association (CCAA). All United Church planned giving staff uphold the ethical standards of the CAGP.

To Lawyers

Our Will Workbook can give your clients helpful direction on how to designate their bequest. We have sample contracts and agreements available for establishing trusts, charitable gift annuities, gifts of residual interest, and personal endowment funds. We respond promptly to inquiries and in the settling of estates.

To Insurance Agents We work directly with companies and agents to transfer existing policies to the church. We are happy to collaborate with donors and agents in creating new policies. The United Church holds policies and issues charitable tax receipts for premium payments on all policies for which the church has been named owner.

To Financial and Estate Planners, Trust Officers, and Accountants Staff can arrange gift proposals and designations to ensure your client receives optimum tax benefits and personal satisfaction in their giving.
