A concept note for the conference is available at www.sierraleonetransformation.org. The conference is intended to provide options for action that could transform the country into a middle income and advanced economy within the next 50 years. The Organizing Committee of the Conference is issuing a call for papers that will present innovative reflection, best practices and contextualized policy changes for the development and transformation of Sierra Leone in line with the afore-mentioned goal. The selected papers will constitute the basis for discussions at technical meetings preceding the conference and the consolidated recommendations presented during main sessions of the conference. The sub-themes of the conference are: Governance: both economic and political Management of Natural Resources: Agriculture, mining plus oil and gas, lands, and fisheries Private sector: Tourism, infrastructure, job creation Social service delivery: health, education and water Diaspora issues for national development Please note that papers that do not neatly fit into these categories, but are related to the main conference theme or are crosscutting, are also welcome.
