It is time for our first meeting of the new year and our outbound student to Chile last January (Megan Hammerton) arrived back in Auckland today. Megan has had a great year and as a thank you her parents are hosting a “Pig on a Spit” roast at their farm for Kerikeri and Kaikohe Rotarians, partners and guests next Sunday. They will have a pig or lamb or ??? on a spit plus whatever, we are asked to contribute with a salad or nibbles. (Kaikohe are bringing desserts.) Venue and other details: · Date – Sunday 17th January (Megan arrived home 9th Jan) · Time – 12.30 for 1 ish · Venue – their place 5685 SH 12 (Their home is on the right hand side travelling towards Kaikohe, about hallway between Ohaeawai and Kaikohe. For those who know the area, Hammerton’s is next to the historic church.) · What – Pig and/or lamb on a Spit · They provide meat and paper plates and some food but with potentially large numbers it would help if we can contribute a salad of some type or nibbles. · Jo will have paper plates and bowls but feel free to bring your own if you wish. · Seats – if you have chairs or stools feel free to bring them or for those feeling sprightly, there is plenty of grass to sit on. This is a nice social way to start our new year so I look forward to seeing you all at Steve and Joanne Hammerton’s next Sunday.
