Dear Business Owner, The Northern Light, the official, student-run school newspaper of Portage Northern High School, is an award-winning publication that is entering its 47th year. The goal of the staff is to expand the coverage of, and distribution to, the local community, and as such, this year we are selling not only community ads, but also community subscriptions. With such a new and enlarged reader base, our advertising staff is eager to serve the needs of our local businesses through ad sales, coupons, and flyer inserts. Portage Northern High School’s student body is extremely diverse, and as young consumers, they are on the cutting edge of fashions and trends. Please consider running an advertisement in our school newspaper, which is made available, without charge, to over 1500 students and staff in addition to our paid monthly alumni and community subscribers. This is over $30,000 of teenage buying power per month, not including the adult inputs! Portage Northern students are active in the community and engage in local commerce. Help encourage their dollars to go to your establishment by running an ad, coupon, or flyer this year. Please look over the enclosed information containing advertisement rates and a copy of our advertisement contract. If you agree with the terms of the contract and would like to advertise with our newspaper, please fill out and sign the contract and mail or email it to us. Advertisement Information Sheet All advertising funds are used to pay for the publishing of the newspaper. The Northern Light is a tabloid size 16 x 16 student-produced publication distributed every month as well as a constantly updated, published website with a substantial social media presence.

These prices are for camera-ready artwork or images as TIFF (or PDF) emailed to us. To have our staff design an ad, flyer, or coupon is a flat fee of $10.00.
