Some of the book is outdated; there are many pages devoted to the effects of DDT in the food supply, and DDT has been banned for decades. There are suggestions for raw juice combinations that the authors propose to help a variety of ailments, such as gout, goiter, heart trouble, insomnia, etc. Most of these recipes are a combination of carrot/spinach juice. There's also a variety of food-based recipes for hair rinses, blemishes and freckles. There's a chapter devoted to the effects of herbs, with an appropriate caveat warning of the medicinal properties of herbs. I'm not keeping the book, primarily because parts of it are obsolete, and partly because it's difficult which information is the product of empirical research and which is the result of subjective observation. Because of that, I doubt the reliability of the information in the book.
