II. ORGANIZATIONAL CONTEXT AND SCOPE Under the general supervision of the Operations Officer in IOM Kampala, and the direct supervision of the Senior Housekeeper and administrative supervision of the Transit Manager, the incumbent will be responsible for:
III. RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES
1. General cleaning of the entire IOM compound. 2. Gardening including planting of flowers and grass, trimming of hedges and cutting of branches as needed. Watering of plants and grass for the upkeep of a green environment. 3. Ensuring that all Bins are covered, cleaned and emptied regularly and garbage collected 1

on designated dates; collecting of litter inside and in front of the transit centre Loading/offloading of cargo; moving of furniture and equipment as required. Fumigation against vermin, termites as needs arise. Clean the pathways and drive ways. Cleaning and keeping in hygienic condition the public toilets and the general staff toilets. General maintenance of the office, painting and decorating, handle minor construction, repairs of structures in the compound. Clean the refugee waiting area. Monitor the fuel level of the generator and arrange for necessary re-fuelling Monitor the reserve water tank level and verify quantities of water supplied. Conduct general carpentry works and handle minor construction and repairs of structures in the compound Any other duty that maybe assigned.

V. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
1. Completed a Secondary School diploma from an accredited academic institution, with one year’s experience in a similar position. 2. At least one year’s relevant experience in grounds keeping, gardening, general maintenance work and support

3. Working knowledge of plant identification, pruning, proper planting skills, ground maintenance and repair methods. 4. Can operate small engine grounds cutting equipment 5. Previous experience in assisting refugees an advantage 6. Readiness to work with a team of multicultural backgrounds. 7. Fluent in English
