YEAR 5 & 6 TECHNOLOGY CHALLENGE DAY
YEAR 9 ROVING REPORTERS
On Wednesday this week, we welcomed Year 5 and 6 pupils from our feeder primaries to work within our Technology department. Students from Ashingdon, Hockley, Plumberow and Westerings joined Mr Baxter and Mr Salway to challenge themselves to design and create a Space City and their own blister packaging for a modern product.
Today, Year 9 English students were joined by a special guest: Andrew, the therapy dog. They were tasked with writing a newspaper report about Andrew’s visit. Here is the winner:-
The students had the opportunity to work collaboratively in using our CAD suite to create a robot droid as well as using new materials throughout the day.
Well done to all the students involved and a big thank you to Mr Baxter and Mr Salway.
STUDENT WELL BEING ACADEMY WEBSITE
ON
GREENSWARD
Please be aware that there is a now dedicated tab on our website linked to Student Health and Well Being. The teenage years can be turbulent enough and sometimes it’s hard to know where to go for advice. With this in mind, we have created this element of the site, enabling students and parents to get the advice they need. We have included areas such as bereavement, bullying, online safety, drugs and alcohol, exam stress, LGBT+, personal relationships, self-harm and young carers and have signposted national organisations that might be able to help with any of your questions. This will be updated regularly and we do hope it is helpful.
PARENT PAY Please remember to top up your child's lunch money account regularly on ParentPay. Don’t forget that you can view your child’s balance online as well as see what they have been selecting for lunch and break. Thank you.
