M OVING

ON :

The months have gone by as we move from Y1 to Y2 to Y3 to Y4; etcetera, etcetera. Big changes have happened here at Lowedges, but were looking forward to all of the new changes. It will be extremely upsetting to see the Y6‟s go to their new school, Meadowhead! Also some members of staff like Mr Shaw , Mr Mallard and Tracey Rice will be leaving us, we wish them all the best for the future! The y4‟s soon to be y5‟s will still carry on with the newspaper reports, don‟t worry .We have had a good year in our classes but when we move on we will turn over a new leaf and blossom a new flower and be prepared to have anything thrown at us! We are all excited to learn new things in our new classes but some of us are a bit nervous to discover our new teacher‟s personalities , thoughts and feelings . Other people’s oppinions: Melissa Y4:I‟m looking forward to moving into Y5,yes I wanted Miss Musson. I am worried about Mr Kilner . Frankie Y1 Miss Wallis:I really wanted Miss Gilmour.I want to learn about plants and stuff in science. I want my teacher to be nice. Alyssa Y3 : I‟m excited about the new Y4 teacher .My new teacher is called Miss Gooch . Harley Y2 : I‟m excited . Yes , I want to learn about new countries .I wanted Miss Keys . I think she is nice . Miriam Y1 Miss Mitchell : I‟m looking forward to my new teacher . I want to do javelin in our sports day. I want to learn about different plants because I want to know why they die . I hope my teacher is nice. Ryley F3 : I want to learn about everything . I‟ll miss my teacher. I wanted Miss Wallis .I‟M EXCITED! Becca F2 : I wanted Miss Mitchell . But I like Miss Kennedy more than Miss Mitchell .I want to know if elves are real .I will miss my old teacher . Kieran Y6: I‟ll be going all over Meadowhead . I‟ll have a break away from my ANNOYING SISTER ELLIE ! I’ll have about 4-5 teachers a day . Sophie Y5 : Yes , I‟m glad . It would have been nice to have a different teacher, but I‟m glad have Miss Taylor . I want to learn about Harry Potter. I like the topic.

Sports Day At the start of sports day we had to get changed into our P.E kits. Then we got our water bottles and went onto the field with green, spiky grass on. After that we got sorted into our groups. I was in the black team and we had to make up our own cheer. Ours was black team clap, clap, and clap I was so excited when I got on the field, also I saw my Nannan! She didn‟t know which team I was in so I told her and it was favourite colour! Also they did some of my favourite things and that‟s why Mr Shaw kept saying good. After a while we got our medals. Luckily I came 2 nd place. YAY !

My favourite time of the year My favourite time of the year was all the really great violin lessons. My favourite song we learnt was „stop bullying‟. I loved the way it sounded. Our teachers were Miss Potter and Miss Owen. We had Miss Potter at first but, then she had a baby girl so Miss Owen was our next teacher. I wish Miss Potter and her baby a good future. All the violin lessons were really good and I hope I learn more about violin in the future and that the price of violin in y5 and y6 is cheap. I think everyone in y4 has worked really hard.

Y6 Memories As Most Y5 students think before their last year will be scary, it isn‟t. As I went up to Y6 I felt scared and a bit petrified of the hard work. On my first day, I found it fun seeing all my friends and getting a new classmate, Katrina. The first day was spent doing activities on drawing. Over the academic year a strong group friendship grew amongst me and other pupils like Charlie, Kye, Jayden, Ellis and Jordan. We mostly did our work together and sat together on the carpet. After a few weeks, we started doing 5Minute times tables tests, where I was getting 100/100 regularly; also we were doing mental arithmetic tests which were quite hard. The year had gone by and it was the month before SATs and we got daily homework to help us out in our tests. By the time we had finished our long tests, we lost a fellow pupil Ky. A few weeks later we went to Crucial Crew where we were taught how to look after ourselves. The day after, we went to Thornbridge Outdoors activity centre, where we spent the day and learnt survival skills, did a long bike ride, went on the skyline. Now what we are doing is a play called Hoodwinked, which is the story of Robin Hood. We have been rehearsing a lot and it gets very tiring. At the end of the year we are going on a bowling trip and are going for a meal after. I am looking forward to getting everyone‟s name on my polo shirt as a huge memory from everyone at Lowedges. I‟d like to thank Mrs. Carter for being a great teacher and the assistants, Mrs. Oxspring for being a dictionary and Mrs. Collins for being a nice person. Im looking forward to going up to Meadowhead in September where my education will grow further.

I enjoyed going to Sherwood Forest. When we first got there the gate was shut so we had to wait a little, while we were waiting, we had a snack and a man came. The man had very pointy blazed arrows and silky blonde hair, he was one of Robin‟s merry men. He introduced himself, he was called Keith the archer, he was one of Robin‟s men, so big, and very merry he opened the gate then we walked into the legend of Robin Hood. My first memory is arts week because we made a float and it was a pirate ship and it had port and holes and it was sparkly and colourful and exciting. I liked it when the play was on because the princess said “Love!” The princess was also kind. She knows that her maids would have made her breakfast. Jade was a sire, a sly sire and Isobel was the princess.

On November 23rd I will be fighting for a belt in a junior prize fighter against four of the best fighters, but one of them is me. I have only just started training again, I am almost ready for the big night I just need a few more months training and some customized shorts and a ring robe. I do not know when tickets are on sale but I hope some people will buy some tickets off of me from school and home. Oh; and I am collecting sponsors for the night, I hope the night goes well and raises loads of money! I also hope that I win!

The school council have been working hard to come up with ideas to raise money for the school. We have had two brilliant fundraisers this year; a sponsored walk and the summer fair: MY FIRST TIME AT GRAVES PARK The summer fair My mum woke me up by calmly whispering „Liliana, wake up‟. I felt so tired but excited at the same time. I quickly shot out of bed and went to my brother‟s room to tell him what I wanted for breakfast. I wanted tea and toast with nuttela. After that, I went to brush my teeth. It took me 3 whole mins. Then I ran downstairs for breakfast. It was really tasty. After that, I had a shower. The water was really cold and I was shivering so changed dial to the warm setting. After my shower, I put some pants on and some cream on and got dressed. Once Ruben got dressed, we went downstairs to watch yu-gi-o gx. I felt so relaxed when I watched it. It‟s about a boy who wants to become the king of games. Afterwards, I put my things in my bag. Inside was orange juice, water and a hat. I only took those things because that‟s what you needed to take. Then I gave my mum a suggestion – not to take a rucksack. I got told off and wasn‟t allowed to go. I begged and begged my mum to let me go. I was finally allowed to go. I said „bye‟ to my mum then, me and Ruben set off. Finally I got to school. I was so excited and couldn‟t wait to go. I saw my friend Abbie there. We talked about the trip to Graves Park. As I entered school, the bell went so, I asked Brogan if we needed to take our coats upstairs. She said „no‟ so I took my bag upstairs, put a sketch pad and pencil in my bag and made Miss Taylor a cool wall name because on Friday 29th of June 2013, she was one of the cool wall winners. Later, we got our things including coats and went outside to be partnered up with the y6s. I was a bit happy to be partnered up with Sophie Waylan but, half way through the journey, Sophie Waylan kept on running away with Chantelle in y6, so I stayed with Abigail. When we got there, my legs started hurting. I was a bit disappointed because I saw no parks. I sat down to eat my snack – an apple. Abbie was moaning because mine was more juicier than hers. Y4 lined up and went to the meadows at the edge of the woods. We saw a bench with cut drawings in it from Mandela school. We made some rubbings and Miss Taylor drew a picture of Oliver, Cam Bam, Ben c, Ben sh and Josh. Then, on the way back, we were looking for signs of wild life. As we got back, it was lunchtime. I had a chocolate shortbread, a cheese sandwich, a drink and half of Abigail‟s flap jack. After lunch, y4 went on the playground. My favourite bit to play on was the zip wire. I asked for a little push because I was a bit scared. I liked it when sky pushed me back. It was really fun. Next we went to the farm. Some of us touched the animals , but I didn‟t. I saw lots and lots of animals like pigs, chickens, cockerels, goats, and rabbits. After, we went to get an ice – cream. I didn‟t get one because I didn‟t have any money then we went back to school. We played heads down thumbs up. later bell went and we all went home . I couldn‟t wait to put my feet up.

On the 8th of July all of lowedges school had a summer fair it was absolutely amazing .At the summer fair we had :An ice –cream van ,a bouncy castle , a bouncy slide, a game called target throw, a bun stall and a bring and buy sale. At the summer fair for the school we raised £449.76p. It was a great day to do a summer fair because on Monday it was absolutely scorching hot. All of our school was very pleased about all of the money that we raised so if you donated money to our school.Thankyou.

Look at Elyse enjoying the very very cool carnival .Also Ruby, Emma ,Isobel and the rest of the year ones. Also look at Ben and Ben with that big big mask.
