I am currently employed as a Government Lawyer in the Solicitors Office of the Health and Safety Executive, Rose Court, 2 Southwark Bridge, SE1.

In November 1992 (00/11/1992), I was employed as a Senior Crown Prosecutor at the CPS

Headquarters. I cannot now recall where the CPS Headquarters was located at that time. I havebeen shown todayby DC HENNESSY a copy of a single typed receipt bearing my signature and dated 10/11/1992.1 do not recall drafting or typing this receipt, but it is my signature. It acknowledges receipt from the City of London Police ofwhat is described as a "Confidential Crown Prosecution Service file relating to Julie MUGFORD and trial preparation by Essex Police".

I cannot now recall what this file was, or what paperswere contained in this file, but I imagine ^J

that it was local CPS Essex case file relating to Julie MUGFORD. Like all CPS case files, I would have considered it to be confidential. It could alternatively have been a file opened by the DPP's office to advise Essex Police, but at this distance of time, I cannot now recall without sight of the file. I am unable to say either way.

I imagine that I required sightof or was given sight of this file because I carried out a review of a complaint against Police Officers made by Mr Jeremy BAMBER.

I personally hold no documents or correspondence relating to the BAMBER case or to any

complaints against Police Officers. I imagine that any CPS papers will be retained by the CPS. I cannot remember who gave me the file, or who I gave it to after I had finished reading it. I exhibit the copy of the receipt bearing my signature as SAS/1.
