The District The Red Lick Independent School District is located in Bowie County. The district, located just minutes from the city of Texarkana, covers 9 square miles. Our district serves students in Kindergarten through the 8th grade with an approximate enrollment of 510. RLISD offers a low student to teacher ratio which enables us to maintain academic excellence. The district competes with area 3A schools in both UIL academics and sports. The Red Lick community is very supportive of the school. The city alderman have participated in long range planning meetings and join us in a Community Christmas Tree Lighting each year. Being good stewards of the state and local funds we are able to maintain a low tax rate of $1.18 while still meeting and exceeding the needs of the students.
