Summer Scholars Dress Code _____________________________ I. Summer Scholars has adopted a dress code to match educational expectations.

II. Students at Summer Scholars will adhere to the same dress code outlined in the student handbook of their home school.

Summer Scholars offers students the opportunity to recover academic courses needed to maintain grade level standing.

What is Summer Scholars? Summer Scholars is the summer credit recovery program for Harnett County Schools. Curriculum will be delivered utilizing the GradPoint Program which is a self-paced computer online educational program. Who is eligible for Summer Scholars?

What are the Summer Scholars hours? We will operate on a Summer Flex Schedule from 9:00am — 7:30pm, Monday through Thursday

What is Summer Flex?

Any student in grades 9-12 is eligible for the program. Incoming freshmen are not eligible to enroll.

We understand that our students work summer jobs and have other circumstances that may need their attention.

When is registration?

Summer Flex allows students to come the center and complete coursework at any time between the hours of 9:00 am 7:30 pm. *Seating is available on a first come, first serve basis.*

Early Registration Period: May 17th, 2016 — June 17th, 2016

Summer Scholars Attendance Policy

Civics/Economics

Attendance at Summer Scholars for at least eight (8) hours per week is mandatory to earn credit.

World History

(At student’s home school and by appointment) Traditional Registration Period: June 20th— 23rd, 2016* (9:00am— 3:00pm) *Registration will be continuous from July 5th— July 21st, 2016.

Missing more than four (4) days of a class will result in the student being dropped from the program with NO credit.

What will I need to register?

Please keep Summer Scholars dates in mind when making vacation plans.

To enroll, a student/parent interview will be conducted. You will also need to bring a current transcript. Students can register and start the same day if space is available.
