Practice 1

The player steps around the ball faking to pass. He then spins round with the step over foot and takes the ball in the opposite direction with the opposite foot.

Coaching Points When being tracked from the side shout out team mates name at the same time as the step over move. This will deceive the defender and allow you more space and time. Spin quickly out of move. www.SoccerSpecific.com

Player A dribbles to the opposite cone and performs the step over and spin with their preferred foot. The ball is transferred to player B who repeats the practice. Vary the change of direction by altering left and right sides. The players then practice in between the cones performing left and right foot moves. Variation: Players take turns in being a passive defender by tracking their partner.

Players A go together and drive down the wing being tracked side by side by defenders B. Players A then perform the right foot step over and spin move to create space for themselves. Players A then drive across the face of the goal once more being tracked by defenders B. This time players A perform the move in front of goals with the left foot and create space and time to finish on goal. After practice both players join opposite group and change roles. 09
