Convocation Exemption Information Sheet ***Deadline is January 30th at 5pm***
INSTRUCTIONS FOR REQUESTING A CONVOCATION EXEMPTION 1. Fill out the "Convocation Exemption Request Form" on Convocation’s website. 2. Bring in a hard copy of supporting documentation to TCC 104, the main Convocation office. *Please note that in the past many students omitted this step and their request was unable to be processed. 3. Complete the Convocation Exemption Request Cover Sheet. This must be done in the Office of the Chaplain, M-F, 8a-5p, with a convocation staff member. You will receive an email informing you of the Exemption decision after February 3, 2017. If you are exempted, it will be for this semester ONLY. You will need to reapply each semester. If you are granted an exemption, you must complete the Exemption Reflection Form on Convocation’s website at the end of the semester. . CHECKLIST FOR SUPPORTING DOCUMENTATION AFTER COMPLETING ONLINE EXEMPTION REQUEST FORM All Supporting Documentation Must Include Class schedule screenshot. The screenshot must show your name and CWID. The screenshot is to be a weekly calendar view. You can access this view by logging onto Wavenet and accessing Student Services, then the Student Center and clicking on the Weekly Schedule link, then choosing Weekly Calendar View. Take a screenshot of the entire screen to ensure your name and ID are included. Commute-Related Information Proof of Residency (Utility bill, bank statement, etc. showing your name and address of residence. Please note that a driver’s license is not valid proof.) Map from your current address to Pepperdine Malibu Campus (such as GoogleMaps), 24255 Pacific Coast Highway, Malibu, CA 90263 (Optional, if applicable) Map from residency to school and school to work Work-Related Information Proof of employment – letter on official company letterhead signed by supervisor Schedule of weekly working hours signed by supervisor Medical-Related Information If you are enrolled with Department of Disability Services (DSO), request a letter be sent by email from their office to the Director of Convocation recommending an exemption for your case. The DSO office will make recommendations based on their assessment of the condition/situation. Not all cases are exempt. Any other personal cases can be submitted by email to the Director of Convocation.
