Community Use of Schools Fee changes and Priority Schools At the Ottawa Catholic School Board, we are proud of the service we provide to the community by offering our facilities after hours to community users. Please note the following changes in the fee schedule for Community Use of Ottawa Catholic School Board facilities, effective September 1, 2015. This new fee structure mirrors that of the coterminous public board. There is no hourly rate charge for

in preparation for a required Public Meeting. The Ministry of Education guidelines direct school boards to: (a) review space in existing schools annually; (b) consider partnerships when undertaking new school construction; and (c) hold an annual Public Meeting. Review of space in existing schools Under Ministry guidelines, schools are identified that for two years or more have been operating at less than 60% and have more than 200 unused pupil places that is projected to be available for a minimum of five years. Planning staff have determined that the Board has no schools that meet this criteria. New schools Construction of new schools is considered an opportunity for ‘cobuilding’ with other City or community partners. To date, there have not been any expressions of interest in our two pending new school sites: South Nepean (Half Moon Bay) and Kanata North Elementary Schools. A public meeting will be held on Wednesday, April 1, 2015, at 6:00 p.m. at the Board’s main administration building: 570 West Hunt Club Road, Building B, Meeting Room 3. The purpose of meeting is to inform potential facility partners so they have an opportunity to review their plans in relation to existing and future
