CAVAN INSTITUTE SPORTS SCHOLARSHIP SCHEME 2014/2015 APPLICATION PROCEDURE HOW TO APPLY FOR A CAVAN INSTITUTE SPORTS SCHOLARSHIP AWARD FOR THE ACADEMIC YEAR 2014/2015 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING CAREFULLY Students who are eligible to apply for a scholarship (i) Students who are currently competing at a high level in their chosen sports discipline and pursuing a Full Time course of study at Cavan Institute or (ii) Students who demonstrate good leadership qualities and are prepared to get actively involved in running a Sports Club. Closing date for completed applications Students who wish to be considered for a Scholarship must submit a hand written application form to the Admissions Office, Cavan Institute, Cathedral Road, Cavan, by 12:00noon on Monday 6th October 2014. The application form must be placed in a sealed envelope and marked “Sports Scholarship”.

Other requirements (i) Students must meet the minimum entry requirements for the course they wish to pursue at Cavan Institute. (ii) Applicants will be short listed for interview based on information provided on application form. (iii) Cavan Institute Sports Scholarships will be awarded for the Academic year 2014/2015 only subject to satisfactory annual academic performance and participation/organising sporting events in the Institute. (iv) Additional details may be attached to this application form. (v) Emailed/Faxed copies will not be accepted. (vi) Documentary evidence of awards, certificates etc., must accompany this application. (vii) Cavan Institute Sports Scholarship recipients must be available to participate in training and sporting events with the Institute. The Institute will have first option on the candidate if a conflict arises between Institute sporting activities and other sporting activities that the recipients are involved in. (viii) Cavan Institute Sports Scholarships will be awarded subject to annual review. An Academic Mentor will be appointed to successful candidates, with whom regular contact must be maintained by the scholarship recipient. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
