SPECIAL EDUCATION - INTEGRATION In the matter of integration of students the following procedures apply: 1. Planned and systematic integration of students will be articulated in each student’s Learner Support Plan (LSP). 2. Principals will ensure that all staff members understand the above requirement and that LSP statements are being met to the best of the school’s ability. 3. The supervisor, Diverse Learning is to be available to assist principals both in developing these methods and in identifying appropriate integration opportunities for the students. 4. The superintendent, Instructional Services and area superintendents, are available to assist principals in areas of the administration of special education classes. The superintendent, Instructional Services and area superintendents, shall exercise discretionary authority on the extent of expected classroom and program integration based upon their knowledge of the school personnel involved. 5. Instructional Services personnel shall be responsible for meeting the inservice needs of both administrators and teachers in the matter of integration of special education students.
