SOUTHWEST WASHINGTON LEAGUE VOLLEYBALL SOP’S 1. The league schedule shall be adopted at the December meeting for the subsequent year. 2. League matches will be officiated by two (2) registered officials. 3. WIAA rules and the National Federation Rules shall be in effect for girls Volleyball. 4. A match shall consist of the best of three (3) out of five (5) games. 5. Games should be played to 25 points (no cap) and the fifth and deciding game should be played to fifteen (15) points, and win by two points. 6. The JV match will be played first at 5:30PM followed by the Varsity match with a 20 minute warm up. That warm up shall consist of 8 minute shared court time during which there will be a coin toss to decide side and serve. Each team will then have 5 minutes of separate court time with a 2 minute shared serving time. The warm up period begins immediately upon the conclusion of the JV match. 7. When games are in progress, there shall be no warm up or ball playing on the court. 8. The home team supplies two lines people for the match. Adult lines persons are requested for all varsity matches in the league. 9. Dressing rooms will be available at 5:00PM. 10.Notifying the local media of game results are the responsibility of the teams involved (coaches). Coaches get stats from other coaches (kills, stuff blocks to earn points, assists, serving and aces). 11.If you cannot field a team on league play due to a violation of a school policy, the game is forfeit. 12.If a team has a libero, they provide a tracker. 13.Volleyball All league selection shall take place on the Sunday following the last league contest. Nominations and discussion will take place at the meeting. The vote is “all opponent” and the number of votes will determine the MVP, 1st 9/28/2010
team, second team and honorable mention. Every school will be minimally represented by at least one honorable mention performer. First team will consist of the MVP plus the next 6 vote getters, Second team the following 6 vote getters with no more than two honorable mention performers per school. Each school is guaranteed at least one honorable mention player.
