Have a black screen when connect a monitor to the DVR

When you hook a monitor to your DVR and get a colorful screen, then change to black screen after seconds, the problem should be the monitor does not support the default output resolution (1280*1024) of your DVR. Adjust the DVR output resolution （1024x768,1280x720,1280x1024,1920x1080optional）can help you solve the problem. 1. Please connect a higher resolution monitor to your DVR to display the DVR interface. 2. Right click your mouse on the monitor to go to “Main Menu”-->system-->GUI Display-->Resolution

If you can’t get the above interface to change resolution, please refer to following tips:

Using software on computer to change DVR resolution: 1) Connect the AHD DVR to the same router with your computer, or connect the AHD DVR to your computer directly by Ethernet cable. 2) Install a Software named【Upgrade】 for PC from the CD or from https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B1XphYhr0A11MXhQUUZaS3RzczA/view?usp=sharing . After install the software you can find the icon on your desktop.

3) Then run it and click "IP Search", check whether can search IP address or not, see below pictures:

4) Tick the IP address, then click “WebBrowse”, login the DVR via IE browser. The 1st login needs to download and install ActiveX, or can’t login.

5) After the ActiveX installed, input User name: 【admin】, password: (DVR default is without password), so don’t input anything. Then you get following interface.

6) Click “DeviceCfg”

7) Click“GUI Display”

We suggest you try the lowest resolution first, then click “OK”， then the DVR will reboot. It should work now. If still can’t get signal on the monitor, please try all the resolutions. And check the maximum resolution of your monitor.
