SNELL & WILMER RENO ATTORNEY JACEY PRUPAS APPOINTED TO THE SUPREME COURT OF NEVADA’S COMMISSION ON JUDICIAL SELECTION RENO (February 1, 2017) – Snell & Wilmer is pleased to announce that Jacey Prupas, a partner in the firm’s Reno office, was appointed as a temporary member to the Supreme Court of Nevada’s Commission on Judicial Selection. The Commission on Judicial Selection interviews and nominates attorneys for appointment to vacant District Court, Court of Appeals and Supreme Court positions. The Commission is composed of seven permanent members -- the Chief Justice of the Nevada Supreme Court, three non‑attorneys appointed by the Governor and three attorneys appointed by the State Bar of Nevada. Regular Commission members serve four-year terms, with the terms expiring on alternate years. Prupas previously served on the Commission on Judicial Selection, Dept. 8 of Second Judicial District Court as a temporary member in 2012. In addition to serving on the Judicial Selection Commission, Prupas is a current member and past board member of the Northern Nevada Women’s Lawyers Association and serves in several capacities for the State Bar of Nevada, including an appointed member of the Nevada Board of Bar Examiners. She is also social chair for the Washoe County Bar Association. In the community, Prupas serves on the boards of KNPB and the Reno Philharmonic. She is also the founder and contributor of the Prupas Medical Student Scholarship Endowment, in honor of her late father Dr. Malin Prupas.
