Step by Step Registration Instructions: STEP 1 SIGN UP THROUGH THE LINK GIVEN TO YOU BY YOUR CHURCH STEP 2 FILL OUT REGISTRATION FORM 1. 2. 3.
Set yourself as the primary contact person to receive emails from local child welfare case workers and you can add more individuals later! For your address put your host home location (this information is only used to send you needs in a geographical area around your group and will not be made public) For Giving Options – Select “We have a Plan to Give” (Most groups are giving through their local church but can also give directly through the system)
STEP 3 ACTIVATION PROCESS: After Filling Out the initial form you will go through a 3 step activation process just to make sure you are ready to receive emails: 1. The first initial email is to confirm your email & add other contact people in your group. (****It is at this point you have the ability to assign any additional individuals that would like to receive Care Portal Requests from your group. ****) 2. The second email will be to verify you have attended an orientation. Chris Campbell, the executive director of 111, has created a short orientation by going here. It is less than 15 minutes in length so once you watch the video you can click “Yes we attended Orientation” 3. The final activation email will verify you have a plan for communicating and meeting needs with your group. You can select the fields that are most appropriate but we would encourage you in the giving section to “consider having your small group give to the church to support Care Portal”
Implementation Tips Here are a few other tips & ideas for you and your group to have a plan of action for quickly mobilizing your group so your group can quickly fulfill these time sensitive requests. 1. 2.

Get key group members signed up in activation step one so that they can receive and respond to requests for your group without you having to forward or double communicate. Potentially utilize a social media tool to keep your group connected during the week about needs that you guys want to meet together. This gives your group something to engage together on or work with other groups to serve around! Bring up a couple of active needs that you would like to meet at group and respond to the requests as a group at group. Then any finances you need to collect or gather you can arrange for that while your group is together. Please do not take on the responsibility alone for fulfilling a Care Portal Request. This is about community, connecting, and serving. Involve your group. Consider having a Care Portal fund set aside to fulfill emergency financial needs. This will protect you from members that commit and then do not follow through with financial commitments. When fulfilling financial request, be sure to send out an email to the entire group letting them know that a Care Portal Request has been completed so you can share in the victory!
Once the activation process is completed you will start receiving emails. If you can meet a need simply respond with the link in the email and you will get connected with a local OKDHS case worker who you can work with to meet the need!
