Let the peoples praise you, O God; let all the peoples praise you. Invocation: Almighty God, Fountain of Love and Giver of all good gifts, we seek your presence at this celebration. We seek your refreshing, renewing and reforming presence this morning. Inspire us that we may inspire others. Bless us that we may be a blessing to others. All seated Introduction: This is what the Scripture says in Ecclesiastes: For everything there is a season, and a time for every matter under heaven. The Lord has made everything beautiful in its time and there is nothing better for them than to be joyful and to do good as long as they live; also that everyone should eat and drink and take pleasure in all his toil this is God's gift to man. God has blessed St. John's church with the pastoral services of Rev. Satyanandam Paul over the last six years and Rev. Salome Joshua over the last three years. They have been our pastors, our guides, our coworkers in Christ, our counsellors, our teachers, our overseers and our friends. With joy and sadness we mark and celebrate the ending of their ministry with us. Leader: Blessed be God. All: And blessed be God's holy name. Leader: The Lord makes everything beautiful in its time. All: Whatever God does, endures forever. Leader: Bless the Lord, O my soul. All: And forget not all God's benefits.

Leader: Bless the Lord, all you hosts: All: You ministers who do God's will. Leader: Bless the Lord, all you works, in all places of God's dominion. All: Bless the Lord, O my soul. Call to Confession: Beloved in Christ, God knows our needs before we ask, and in our asking prepares us to receive the gift of grace. We enjoy the blessings of God because of His grace that he ordained for us in and through Jesus Christ. Let us humbly acknowledge our frailty and sinful nature and ask God for his forgiveness and mercy. Confession: Lord we confess we have sinned against you and our neighbour. We confess that we have not reflected your love in our relationships. We have taken each other for granted and have often ignored each other's needs. We have been childish in our selfish expectations, been egotistic in making demands and careless with the gifts you have given to us. Forgive us for wrongs not righted, for silence that has separated us and for forgetting to nurture and encourage each other. Teach us to be gracious; teach us to listen; teach us to love even as you loved us. Help us to be worthy of all that we have received through your son, Jesus Christ our Lord, Amen Words of Assurance: Even as we are called to be salt and light, so are we given the strength we need for the task through the love of God, the great compassion of the Holy Spirit and the life of justice lived by Jesus. God receives us as we are, lifts us up, and calls us again to be people of love and mercy in a hungry, hurting world. Receive God's pardon and peace through Jesus Christ. Amen All stand: Collect: God of grace, you fill your servants with vision; you empower your servants with your spirit. We give thanks for the ministry of these your servants and for the ways in which you have blessed us through them. Give them a sense of your abiding presence that they may continue to love and serve you and grow in the grace and knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ. Fill us your people with your light so that we may share your reconciling love with the world. Enlighten us that we may be open to new possibilities of life for all your people. Use us to reflect and reveal the new life given to us through Jesus Christ who reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, now and forever. Amen

The Gift of Peace: If we say we love God, then we must love those who are beloved of God and belong to the family of God. Sermon The Nicene Creed I believe in one God the Father almighty, Maker of heaven and earth, and of all things visible and invisible: And in one Lord Jesus Christ, the only-begotten Son of God, Begotten of his Father before all worlds, God of God, Light of Light, Very God of very God, Begotten, not made, Being of one substance with the Father, By whom all things were made: who for us men, and for our salvation, came down from heaven, And was incarnate by the Holy Spirit of the Virgin Mary, And was made man, And was crucified also for us under Pontius Pilate. He suffered and was buried, And the third day he rose again according to the Scriptures, And ascended into heaven, And sitteth on the right hand of the Father. Dear Rev Paul and Rev. Salome Joshua you were called to be our pastors and the shepherds of this flock, to proclaim God's Word and celebrate the sacraments, to interpret the Gospel for us and maintain the unity of the Church. You have provided leadership and guidance for us in the spirit of Christ. You have challenged us with the Gospel mission as our Presbyters. You have helped us to mark our direction and encouraged us on our way. Together we have served the Lord and his Church in common devotion to the Gospel. Sharing in our joys and sorrows, you have been important to us in our life together in the Church of Jesus Christ. All: Dear Lord, we thank you for Rev Satyanandam Paul and Rev. Salome Joshua and for our life together. You have led them by the Holy Spirit to serve your people in this pastorate, to build up your

Church, and to glorify your name. We have worked in common for the sake of the Gospel. Together we have learned from your Word. Together we have broken bread and given thanks. In thanksgiving, we praise you for raising up faithful servants among us for the ministry and oversight of your Church. And we pray that these servants may continue to exemplify, in word and deed, the Gospel of your Son. Grant that we, with them, may continue to serve you in the Church on earth, and be brought to rejoice in your kingdom forever; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen The Lord's Prayer Celebrant: Scripture tells us that endings are only new beginnings. Therefore, let us go forth, doing God's will in our respective places, for the sake of the Gospel of Christ. Go now, and do God's will. As you have been a blessing to us, go to be a blessing to others. Testify faithfully in word and deed, to the love and salvation that is known to us. Strive for righteousness, godliness, faithfulness, love, endurance, and gentleness among yourselves. Give and receive comfort as you serve within the world. May God, the Father, bless you! May God, the Son, be ever with you and guide you! May God, the Holy Spirit, equip you with everything good to do God's will and may you always know God's peace! Amen The Celebration: Celebrant: Blessed are you O God, and forever blessed are the people of this world since you chose to break into our history in the person of Jesus Christ. He made your extravagant love so visible in and through all he said and did, especially on the night when he washed his disciples' feet and sat down at a table to share the meal with them. On that night the night of his betrayal - he took a loaf of bread, and when he had given thanks, he broke it and said, "This is my body given for you. Do this in remembrance of me." In the same way also he took the cup, after supper, saying, "This is my blood of the new covenant, poured out for you and for everyone. Do this, as often as you drink it, in remembrance of me." For as often as you eat this bread and drink the cup, you proclaim the Lord's death until he comes. Pour out your Holy Spirit upon us, O God, and upon these gifts of bread and wine, that they may be for us the life of Christ and that we may make that life visible through serving as he served, comforting as he comforted, and loving as he loved. This we pray in his name. Amen

All: God our Father, you fill the hungry with good things and send the self-satisfied away empty. Fill us with the word and the bread of life of your Son Jesus Christ. Prayer of Thanksgiving: Glorious God, you have made us one with all your creation in heaven and on earth. You have fed us with the bread of life and renewed us for your service. Help us who have shared Christ's body and received the cup, to be his faithful disciples so that our daily lives may be part of the life of your kingdom.
