Prayer and Praise We thank you for this community of Grace Lutheran Church, for our friends and for our families. Help us to love You Lord, our God, with all our heart, and with all our soul, and with all our mind, and with all our strength. Help us to also love our neighbor as ourselves. Thank you that we can unite in prayer for the persecuted church, in the spirit of oneness that Christ commands: "For, if one suffers, we all suffer." Jesus, You are highly exalted, and Your name is above every name! Your name is above the name of all sicknesses and diseases. Your name is above depression, and poverty, and all other names. Blessed be Your name Lord! Thank you that You are the solution to any problem, and You are bigger than any obstacle we face. We pray for the Eisinger family, grieving the loss of their husband/father. Let us continue to pray for those who have lost loved ones as they are experiences grief and the changes in their life during the holidays. Thank you that John Holmer is improving. We join Helga Boge in praise and thanksgiving as she attends Grove Community Church in Marysville today for her daughter Teri, and her sons, Ben and Sawyer's baptism. Pray for Pastor Phil Heiser's mom; Pastor Randy Paulson's sister, Martha Heiser as she continues to recover from the hip surgery at the Rehabilitation facility in Everett. Praise for a successful surgery. Be with her husband Dave and the family as they make decisions of the timing of their return to Arizona to complete her rehabilitation. Prayers for Robyn King, as she recovers from the procedure she had on Wednesday. We pray that she may experience relief from pain. We pray for Tom, Laila's brother as he experiences the difficult side effects of chemo, treating his cancer. Prayers for Mardelle Lida as she adjusts to her new home at Rosewood Park. Be with Lorna Barnes as she recovers and heals from a fall, breaking 3 bones. Continued prayer for Aaron, Garret, Doris Pyle, and Gerri Lake as they continue to heal and recover from medical care. For this season of Thanksgiving, we commit to support the Edmonds Food Bank who assist families needing help within the Edmonds neighborhood. Pray for those who are experiencing the effects of hunger, due to job loss or change, health issues, family crisis, and cuts in benefits. Pray for our government leaders, locally and nationally.
Monday, November 9th, 7:00 AM-6:00 PM Regarding the filming of "Two Pictures" on Monday, November 9th
An independent film that is a professional feature film, entitled "Two Pictures", will be filming a scene at Grace Lutheran Church. Please contact Victor, if you would be willing to be a Grace Host for the day, or part of the day. There will be 30 people as part of the actors and crew. There will also be an additional 20-25 extras. As a member and attender of Grace, you are also invited to be an "extra" in this movie. Let Victor know if you would like to be part of this. "Two Pictures" is a story about a burn unit nurse and a shipyard worker who are brought together through a fire at the shipyard, causing the worker to have burn wounds that needs to be treated. The scene that will be filmed at Grace is one of the supporting characters is a Lutheran pastor who will be preaching part of a Good Friday sermon as well as talking with the nurse character. if you are interested in being an Extra, with the particular scene involving Extras, you will need to be available from 8:00 AM until 2:00 PM. You would be provided lunch. Extras usually end up waiting around a lot, so it is suggested that you bring a book. Once they get going they will try to shoot the Extras as quickly as they can but everything in movies takes a long time - the lighting and blocking in particular. It's fun because you get on screen and see the process - but you end up waiting around a lot. They are happy to have folks! There will be coffee and snacks all day too. If this sounds like fun to you or your friends, and you'd like to participate in this, just email me at
[email protected]. You are also welcome to text me at 206.579.9358, or leave a message on my home phone at 425.745.9415. The film director will touch base with me before the shoot to see how many of our congregation etc. will be there.
