Chesterfield Residents, LLC. Message We have accomplished a lot this summer! In July, we had a community meeting, started a Facebook Page for residents, started a website for those who do not use social media, and launched Chesterfield Residents, LLC. In August, we had our neighborhood watch kick off meeting, did #Williamgivesback for Anne Arundel County Police Department Eastern District, and launched our community led neighborhood watch! The community is getting more involved than ever before and coming out to work together in large groups!

William, a Chesterfield Kid, and his mother were walking through the community one night and saw a police officer. He stopped and asked the officer if he could make him a cake. William and his mother also asked Chesterfield Residents, LLC. to post it to their Facebook Page and asked the community to join him in giving back. Chesterfield responded in great numbers! On August 4th, 2016, William took baked goods to eastern district at 6:30 am! The officers invited him in to meet them, and William thanked them for being his real life hero’s everyday. They also took the time to give William Junior Police Badges and helmet safety cards for him and his friends! Along with all the officers, William met Captain Shawn Urbas and Lieutenant Fred Cross. The AACPD Eastern District took so much time with William that morning, and the community did a great job of getting behind William to thank these officers for the work they do each and everyday for us!

Community Meeting

In July, we had our first community led meeting. We had guest speakers from the police department(Capt. Urbas, Sgt. Clark), the health department(Steve Hammond & Thomas Multon), Nic Kipke, Steve Schuh’s Office (Nancy Schrum), Derek Fink’s Office (Patrick Mulford), Steve Stecher (realtor), and Jennifer Wheeler (Addiction Services). It was a hot day and with less than a weeks notice, the community came out to work with our guest speakers on concerns they had in the community and ideas to fix them! We were educated on how to report crimes, how to cut back on the rat population, where to go for help with addiction, and much more. Details of the event can be found under the Blog section of our website. Chesterfieldresidents.wordpress.com

Neighbor of the Month AJ Amend, a Chesterfield Kid, had the most nominations this month for Neighbor of the month! AJ spends his time helping his neighbors out by mowing their lawns, planting flowers, shoveling snow in the winter months and helping out anyway he can. He is very excited to be a part of the Chesterfield Community movement we have all started together. He went outside on one of the hottest days of the year and cleared grass off the sidewalks from our common areas being mowed. AJ is a very humble young man and didn’t need a present to be a helpful member of our community, but we gave him one anyway! AJ received an award as well as a $25.00 gift card to The Daily Scoop! Rob Falloni nominated the most people this month and is a huge asset to our community in spreading the positivity and sense of community we have here in Chesterfield! Rob won a free Chesterfield Residents T-Shirt for nominating the most people!

After our community meeting, we found that a lot of our neighbors were experiencing rodent issues. One of the causes of the increase in rodents according to Thomas Multon at Anne Arundel County Health Department is improper storage of trash. We reached out to Ace Hardware and Hearth the day after the meeting and without question offered to donate 6 trashcans with lids to our community! Block Watchers in Neighborhood watch walked the community on trash night to see which of our neighbors were in need of a trashcan. We later delivered 6 trashcans to members of our community! This is a prime example of how Pasadena Business’s support out community. Please shop local and make sure we are always giving more than we take! Thank you again to Ace Hardware and Hearth in Pasadena!
