The Board of Engineers Malaysia (BEM) is a statutory body constituted'

under the Registration of Engineers Act 1967 while the lnstitute of Engineers Malaysia (lEM) was estabrished earlier (1959). To,date, there ar.e close to 100,000 engineers registered with BEM ,under various categories as shown in Figure 1 below.
