Bake Sale for Family Partnership in Centreville The bake sale at Route 18 Park in Centreville has been rescheduled for Saturday, September 13th. This money will go towards improving our 4 area campgrounds. The sale will run from approximately 8:00 am – 2 pm. We are looking for girls (and their moms) to bake items, packaged in $.50 - $1.00 packages to sell. If you can bring a baked good to the field and/or work an hour shift, please let Robin or Angela know.
Postcard Exchange The Troop is participating in the 2009 Thinking Day Postcard Exchange. If your daughter is interested in receiving mail from around the world, please let me know. Our intent is to collect a postcard from at least one troop from every state and some international ones as well. Each girl that participates will be responsible for bringing any postcards received to the next troop meeting to share. We’ll collect all of the postcards to make a display to share at Thinking Day and again during Girl Scout Week in 2009 in a hallway at CES.
ACME Field Trip To begin our Eat Right Stay Healthy Trip we’ll be taking a tour of Centreville’s Acme Supermarket. I will need at least 2 parents to help transport the girls from CES to ACME. Pick up will be at 5:00 p.m. in front of the store.
Milburn Orchards Field Trip It’s a Fall Festival with hayrides, corn maze, apple picking, tractor tunnel, straw jump & more. Admission fee for scouts ($8) paid by the troop, however additional spending money may be needed for extras (pumpkins, apples, etc.) Eat lunch prior or pack to eat on the way. This place makes the BEST apple donuts! We will meet at QHS front parking lot at 11:00 a.m.
Fall Product Sales The sales of magazines and nuts & candy will begin on September 26th and run through the end of October. More details will come at the next meeting.
Juliette Gordon Low Birthday Party Get to know the founder of Girl Scouts. A birthday celebration will be held at Centreville Middle School on Friday, October 24th from 6:30 – 8:00 p.m. RSVP needed by October 7th. Troop funds to pay for admission to the event ($3).
What Does Our Troop Need? *A Cookie Mom! *Old denim jeans – child sizes ~6 to ~10 – for S.W.A.P. pocketbook project *Pictures – email or CD of the booth at the fair, investiture ceremony, any future meetings, events, or trips. Keep them coming!
Recycling Program Ask family and friends to save cans for us too! If you have any, please drop them off in Robin’s driveway.
Next Meeting Does your daughter have a hobby? Is it a collection, skill, or a craft that she can share with the troop? If so, please let me know so we can incorporate it in to our next meeting.
Dues are Due - $25 for September – December, 2008. Checks should be made payable to “Troop 1335”.
