Second International Workshop on Teaching and Learning in the 21st Century - 11-12 March 2013 Organized by the Faculty Training Academy Objectives: Educational technology needs support of the teachers who integrate technology into the curriculum, align it with student learning goals, and use it for engaged learning projects. The transformation of classroom technology from hardware, software, and connections into tools for teaching and learning depends on knowledgeable and enthusiastic teachers who are motivated and prepared to put technology to work on behalf of their students. This programme aims to provide an opportunity for teachers to learn the various trends that exist in Teaching and Learning. About the organizers: B.S. Abdur Rahman University (formerly B.S. Abdur Rahman Crescent Engineering College) has been established under section 3 of the UGC Act 1956. Being one of the largest engineering institutions in India, it lays emphasis on innovative research, investment in state-of-art facilities and first rate infrastructure. The workshop is organized by the Faculty Training Academy of the University. The Faculty Training Academy was formed in June 2010 to train new teachers in the basics of teaching methods and update the knowledge of the existing faculty members. Various programmes in teaching and learning such as outcome based learning, e-content development, use of online tools in teaching have been conducted by the Academy in the past few years. About the Workshop: The Second International Workshop was inspired by the success of a event in the same name organized by the Faculty Training Academy in December 2011. Lots of innovations have been proposed as a result of the experiences in the first International Workshop. The theme of the event this time is “teaching skills needed for the learning in the twenty first century”.
