For over a decade, the schools have provided students living in underserved communities the opportunity to excel in their studies in a small classroom environment focused on providing the skills they need to succeed later in life. With a college acceptance rate of 100 percent, Harmony Public Schools have earned the reputation of providing a distinct, high-quality education. Fourteen of them also have the honor of being T-STEM field pioneer schools. Our mission at Harmony Public Schools is to prepare each student for higher learning in a safe, caring and collaborative atmosphere through a quality learner-centered educational program with a strong emphasis on math, science, engineering, and technology. Harmony Public Schools serve over 26500 students on 46 campuses throughout Texas. The student body is culturally diverse with a population that is 47% Hispanic/Latino, 21% White, 15% Asian, and 17% African American. SCHOOL Harmony Science Academy Euless (HSA Euless) is a part of Harmony School System which is a 7-12 college prep public charter school enrolling 552 students taught by 52 credentialed faculty members. The school operates on a two-semester system with nine weeks-period times. 55 % of the total students are qualified free or reduced lunch program, which are from low-income families. The student body is culturally diverse with a population that is 17% Hispanic/Latino, 42% White, 15% Asian, and 24% African American CURRICULUM The academic program is organized on a block schedule for 9th - 12th grades. Seven (7) credits per semester are the maximum course load; Students attend four 95-Minutes block classes per day for four days and eight 45-Minutes periods one day at each week. Block classes are year-long; each block class meets every other day. Block Scheduling was instituted in 2010. AP® courses are offered in Biology, Chemistry, English Language, English Literature, Government (United States and Comparative), Physics, Statistics, U.S. History, Human Geography and World History. The Area College Programs enable juniors and/or seniors to enroll in freshmen courses and earn college credits at local institutions of higher education. Dual credit courses are offered as online and on-site in our campus through Tarrant County College and The University of Permian Basin. GPA is computed using the above quality points. All credit course subjects, whether passed or failed, are included in the computation. If a course is repeated the previous grade is not taken into calculation. A minimum of 26 credits is required for graduation. In addition to the required 26 credits, each student must complete a 100 hours community service graduation requirement. AP and Dual credits are weighted by one point. Grades are recorded on the transcript and grade point average is computed in January and May. RANKING Harmony Science Academy Euless does not rank due to the depth of curriculum and rigorous work. Rank can be shown if it is for the benefit of the student. ADVANCED PLACEMENT RESULTS In May 2016, 95 students took AP Exams. A total of 193 exams were taken in 8 subjects. 35 % of the AP Exams received scores of 3 or higher. Some of the activities-clubs at Euless campus are National Honor Society, Student Council, Science Olympiad (Middle-High), Robotics, First Lego League, Math Counts, Math League, Math Olympiad, First Tech Challenge, Debate Team. The School does not offer an athletic program; students participate in sports at the schools in their former attendance zones. SERVICE A minimum of 100 hours of school and community service is required. Students will complete a concentration of 100 hours in various service areas.
