Its mission is to prepare each student
for higher education by providing a safe, caring, and collaborative atmosphere featuring a quality, student-centered educational program with a strong emphasis on Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics. The school was opened in the fall of 2000 and graduated its first senior class in the spring of 2005. Harmony Science Academy is a designated T-STEM academy and is accredited by Texas Education Agency. Students are enrolled through a lottery process and applications are open to the public. Graduation Requirements: HSA follows the graduation requirements set by TEA. The five endorsements are available to students are STEM, Business and Industry, Public Services, Arts and Humanities and Multidisciplinary Studies. Students are required to complete 100 community services hours and gain acceptance from a 4-year college. GPA CALCULATION: GPA is computed using the grading scale below. All courses, including local credit courses, whether passed or failed, are included in the computation. AP, Project Lead the Way (PLTW), and dual-enrollment courses are weighted on equal scale.
