SCELC Library Agreement The purpose of this agreement is to ensure that institutions that license electronic resources through SCELC are fully aware of and agree to abide by SCELC’s basic licensing and payment policies & procedures. (Please review the Guidelines for working with SCELC page at http://scelc.org/join/guidelines, which may be updated from time to time and is not considered to be part of this agreement.) I acknowledge, on behalf of my institution _________________________, that we are aware of and will abide by the following basic licensing procedures. All orders that receive a SCELC discount are: 1. placed via a SCELC order form signed by a staff member at my institution 2. paid for via a SCELC invoice due within 30 days of issuance (or through my subscription agent by special arrangement) 3. licensed via a central SCELC license (unless otherwise specified) 4. subject to a line item surcharge (o-5%) payable with each final invoice 5. subject to an affiliate transaction fee (0-5% up to $150) when ordered by an Affiliate institution All subscription orders that receive a SCELC discount: 1. are licensed on a SCELC-established annual renewal term which may start on the 1st of any month July through June 2. are provisionally renewed each April via a Master Renewal Order Form reviewed and signed by a staff member at my institution 3. are initially prepaid via an annual or semi-annual Master Renewal Invoice 4. are finally paid via a quarterly reconciliation invoice based on the renewal date and for the final price as determined by the vendor in negotiation with SCELC 5. May not be cancellable without 60 days notice (prior to the term end date) 6. May be subject to late payment fees and/or suspended with loss of access when payment is more than 60 days overdue Furthermore, I agree to ensure that a staff member at my institution uses the SCELC website to update our SCELC institutional profile at least twice a year, reflecting any changes to its FTE, institutional contacts, IP address ranges and other data that was requested via the SCELC application. ____________________________ Signature of Current Library Director or Designated Director Representative
